It's iPOVA...Not an iPod
Review created: 12/06/06(updated 12/16/06)

Let me just say that this was one of my first eBay purchases, so I was naive about what I was buying. I didn't ask questions, and I know better now!
This was a birthday present for my pre-teen daughter who wanted an iPod. But as a single mom trying to make ends meet, I didn't have the funds for the Apple brand. I have an iPod mini (that I won as a door prize last year), so I am comparing value not price here.
This little bugger is cute. The iPova I bought was pink and small (like a Sony Bean) and perfect for her little hands. It features a 1/2 gig and an FM tuner--which was why I bought it. Also bought the charger from the same seller. We opened it last night and was very disappointed in the quality.
Our only gripe...iTunes does not let you convert purchased songs to MP3 format, so I can't share my music library with my daughter. She can only copy songs from a CD that she already has--which is just silly.
In retrospect, I should have bought the iPod Shuffle in the first place...but I paid 1/2 the price with this one. I should have done my homework first. I'm posting this review because no one else did and because I'm selling this item and wanted potential bidders to be aware of what they are buying.
My seller shipped fast and sold me just what I paid for. I have no one to blame by myself. I'm giving this an average rating because it's still a cute little transistor radio that also stores phone numbers and records too! But for my daughter, who wants a lighter gadget to play music (before she had a Sony CD player), she still wants to borrow my iPod, which speaks for itself...
PS There are other sites (besides iTunes) that are MP3 friendly. Maybe it'd be ok for a beginner who doesn't have an established Apple Music library and a REAL iPod to compare it to.
