iRobot Roomba 580 Robotic Cleaner

I love this vacuum. I can be vacuuming while I'm doing something else. I have 2 shedding dogs & my house is so much cleaner with the Roomba. Two of my family members bought one & told me how good it was, so I tried it. IT'S GREAT!! It goes under things & other places where I wouldn't go with my regular vacuum. It's a real back saver.

The only down side is, it needs to be emptied often because the vacuum bin is quite small. It's not a big deal to me.

I highly recommend it.

My parent's new 4,900 square feet house has finished built, and it's pretty nice and big (more of a fancy house I would say). I got this for them during Xmas 08, and both of them said that I've just saved my mother's back from having to sweep the house every day(typical asian house wives do sweep the floor everyday with the asian/vietnamese broom.) So far, in the past month, the roomba has done a good job keeping the dust down in the house.
I will be buying another one for them as soon as the Lunar New Year comes around.

In the research to getting the best Roomba, I consulted the roomba website and did the comparisons. The 580 was the 2nd best of the best. I saw the other ones at Bed Bath and Beyond, and they weren't good as the 580. Features scheduling, works great when you get it jumpstarted. The virtual wall is really helpful when you want to block off a room or a area from getting vac'd.

The roomba goes around and does hit things though, like end corners in the house. Marks are noticable if the roomba hits the corner by the tip of the sides. Youtube the videos of roomba in action and you'll get the idea.

I do plan to get another one also to mop the house. The vacuum one does not clean up any rubber or light shoe marks from the marble tiles.

It's best to buy the roomba using a coupon (around Thanksgiving or such), I used my Xmas 08 one, and had an awesome deal on it + using Live.com cashback too.

So far so good. The one draw back seems to be Roomba does not honor the Roomba warranty when the item is purchased on eBay. It was necessary to contact Roomba concerning the short time it ran the first time. It was necessary to do the 16 hour charge a second time in order to get it to clean for about 60 minutes. It does not do the edges or corners as the instructions indicate it should.

IVE HAD 3 ROOMBAS BEFORE THIS ONE, ALL OF THEM THE 400 SERIES. THIS ONE BLOWS THE OLDER ONES AWAY IN ALL CATAGORIES. IT IS MUCH QUIETER, SLOWS DOWN ON APROACH EVERY WALL, MUCH BETTER DUST BIN, SUPERIOR TRACTION , & MUCH BETTER ARTIFICIAL INTELIGENCE. THE BATTERY IS LONGER LASTING AND THE LIGHT HOUSES HAVE MORE FUNCTIONALITY. THIS ROBOT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!

This is the best vacuum I have ever owned. It picks up great, we have a cat and I would like to vacuum everyday, this will so I don't have to or feel guilty about not getting to it. We are still getting to know it and hope to set it up to run duing the night while we sleep. In the mean time, we are running it during the day with us there to learn its features and make sure the cat stays away. We have been shocked at the amount it picks up when we thought the floor was clean. It cleans in places I might only get to once or twice a year. It goes around table & chair legs and just when I think it is trapped, it works it's way out. My floors are noticably cleaner. I want another one for upstairs and a scooba too!

Incredibile oggetto, dopo 15 giorni di utilizzo siamo diventati dipendenti da lui, se oggi si rompesse domani ne comprerei subito uno nuovo senza pensarci! un consiglio a tutti coloro che vogliono avere sempre la casa pulita senza sforzie e quindi di conseguenza più tempo libero per se stessi, ormai lo trattiamo come uno della famiglia, come un animale domestico, questo prodotto è davvero geniale, ora aspetto che ci arrivi scooba!!

great delivery time; as described; need to see it perform to appreciate its performance. It's well worth the money to see it operate.

My wife programed it to come on at a specifc time and it does the work. Now she wants three more. Enough said. ;)

I would expect a $500 robot to be able to clean my house at reasonable expectation. However, it failed to clean it well and is very time consuming to clean our house. I advice not to purchase this toy if you have pet.

I received my Roomba 3 days after I bought it!! What fast service! I love it and can't imagine being without one now! It works great on all my floors-from carpet to wood to tile. Thank you. Doris

This is not real 580 model, they took some parts and called it 580.
If I knew that, I wouldn't buy it.

I thought TiVo changed my life, but Roomba has given me a new life! With TiVo, I can go fishing and hunting whenever I want. With Roomba, I can go fishing and hunting ALL THE TIME. It is wonderful!!!

I have stairs, so the Virtual Wall is a great aspect. I have set "him" to run M,W,F at 8:00am after we all leave the house. Come home to clean floors. The only negative thing I had read (when I researched prior to buying) was that "he" doesn't let you know when the dust chamber is full...DUH...I empty him out every M,W,F, when I get home.

Only thing I would change is to have a "Pager" option on the charging base, so that we could find him easier when he runs down before he can make it home to re-charge. (the charging dock is great too...don't have to plug & unplug him ourselves) My kids tell their friends that they "have a robot to do the housework."

we have hardwood floors, which could show dust easily...I don't have that problem. The cats don't mind him either

This is my 3rd Roomba in over 5 years. Love them. Hope this is the best model. I run it 1 hour per day , 5 days /wk. Does a great job. Sometime she plays hide and seek, but mostly stays home. Love it.

i bought irobot for my mon, so that she doesn't need to work so hard for clearing floor. my mon loves it. thank you. the item is great!!

Future and sci-fi is my hobby. I like everything in modern design especially working or moving itself or comfortable. Irobot Roomba has been my dream for 3 years. I have discovered Trilobit as first but it was very expensive. The decision of this Roomba was modern design and better ability as well as the price. I am very, very satisfied to have this new member of my family.
