I bought it up to see if we would like an MP3 player for our 10 year old before we spent lots of money on one. The software downloaded from the IRiver website with relative ease. It was even easier to load our own CD's on the computer and then "drag and drop" the songs we wanted on the MP3. I haven't tried to get music from an on-line source. I liked it so much I am giving it to my 10 year old and buying myself a 1 GB one.
Pros: Small, light, easy to organize files. Cons: Only holds about 70 files at a time, somewhat tricky joystick.
I can put about 70 songs into this little device, which is more than enough for a long drive or relax with. This is a very small player, which is nice, and I actually like the triangular case design. It fits easily in the hand. Overall, this is a very nice player for the active music listener. The sound quality is excellent, it's lightweight and easy to carry, and it is very quick and easy to transfer/organize files.
The bottom line: It won't store your entire song collection, but its light weight, size, and durability make it perfect for use at the gym or out on the trail.
