I bought this 40GB mp3 player about a year ago for half the price that Apple iPods 20GB were selling for. And the value has stayed basically the same after a year. I could sell it and get a 60GB ipod for the same price.
The music is organized just like your computer because the player is basically just an external hard drive. And then there's the extra options like sound recording in mp3 format, picture viewing, text reading, and more. You can play just about any music format including OGG format.
Cons: Navigation is a little tougher than the ipod. Scrolling up and down through 40GB of music can take a long time! It's bigger and heavier than an equivalent ipod.
I've managed to get around the cons, though, because of all the features that outweigh an ipod including PRICE.
thanks, shipment arrived very fast. The porduct works great and I am very satisfied.
unfortunately, i dont have much more to write about so I am just going to fill in random text in order to reach 100 words:bdffffffffffffffffffdggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg
Yes, it is little bit thicker then other players but it is 40GB HDD, very nice bright screen and I think has the best sound from MP3 players. As somebody said before a little confusing navigation. I really like this player and recomend it.
I bought mine refurbished Dec. 2005 and it is still great!!! I use it almost every day at work. The battery life was getting down to about 2 hours so I started letting it run all the way out completely and then charging it for 3 hours, the battery life is up to 6ish hours. I have plenty of music and pictures on it. I have a cover over the screen and the buttons and a silicon cover. I bought it to save my back from carrying cases of cds around to my jobs.
I read a story about iRiver from GQ magazine. It has genuin ability to play MP3 and all other compilers of music. It can play MPEG plus most kind of video formats. It can record voice and radio. iRiver is known as the best recorder. It has FM & AM radio. It can load JPEG + all other pictuer files. It can read and write TXT and other text files. I read eBooks using this device. This is like the one in Shaper Image. This is totally men's toy.
Easy navigation and support over 30 languages(I do not need though). Use as a clock + alarm.
Fast trasfer speed via USB2.0. Credle and other valuiable accesorries included as a package.
I like the sound system. iRiver work with Bang & Olusen and try to make the best sound for a little MP3 Player. SRS is one cool thing. I hear things like I am in a concert hall or something.
The hardcover is great that is made of same materials of airplane. It will survive in FIRE.
Not easy to be scratched like IPOD.
40HDD is pretty hugh that I even use this as a extra HDD D: drive(for backup my important stuffs).
I bought this after loving a little iFP 180T that I gave my husband. Thought I could sync it to an online service. Pfft.. Not iRiver's fault. The service I chose doesn't work for snot. But the H340 does. So instead I put all our CDs on my computer, and this thing has all those files on it, plus my photo collection (huge!!!) I carry it everywhere and adore the sound quality. I walked into a big music store and the manager came up and asked me what kind I had. I gave him my earplugs and he ended up stocking iRivers! It isn't very sleek in design, but that's the only Con I could come up with so I didn't sound like a gushing geek.
...March 2006 Here I am a few months later and I'm not so happy. The battery discharged and won't recharge. I tried all the troubleshooting tips. It keeps trying to start up when I plug in the charger, but it dumps out about 5 seconds later. After calling the iRiver helpline, I learn there are NO repairs available. The guy actually said it would cost just as much to send it in to them for repairs as it would to buy a new one.
I have had this player for a few months and it's excellent.
