Great Product for the Techno Novice

I bought the iRiver H10 (6GB) player because I wanted more storage space than a Nano, but didn't want to pay a hefty price for it. I'm not a technologically savvy person, so I didn't want to lay out alot of money for a machine I either had to get someone else to load for me or would end up putting back on eBay because it was too complicated. A couple of "ripping and burning" lessons from my younger friends cleared up that mystery for me, but it did take me a few days to get used to the side buttons on the H10. Initially, the protective skin was either getting in the way of turning the device on/off, or wasn't protecting it enough to keep me from forwarding to the next song by accident. I've become accustomed to it now, but I still have to be mindful of locking/unlocking. My battery life is not great, but I don't know how old my device was before I bought it. Three hours continuous music before charging would be my outside guess; I usually only listen for a half hour at a time. All in all, I am very pleased with this device. It can hold music, text, photos (the screen is almost too small for detailed viewing), voice recording, and has fm radio capability (though I haven't had too much luck picking up my favorite station, which transmits from a neighboring state.)It can also record from the radio; the quality is low, but adequate if you just need to remember a chorus or share a riff with someone. It is an ideal starter device for young teenagers, and could even inspire a older novice like myself to start looking into the larger capacity mp3 and video players.
