I found this book to be a very useful tool in my home "photo studio". I have for a couple years been using me own homemade light box and found some new techniques in this book for using natural light and improving my own light box.
The authors also show different ways to market your items, objective vs subjective. Using the subjective approach you may put the item in context, like placing flowers in that ho-hum vase or an espresso cup filled with coffee and the morning paper. The object is to place the buyer in a "fantasy world" so they think they need the item.
There is a lot of emphasis placed on lighting and backgrounds to make your images "pop". All the advice given works on even a shoestring budget and anyone could get set-up and going in one afternoon.
The book also talks about photo editing and gives some tips, but the main emphasis is using your photo taking skills so you DO NOT have to rely on editing software later.
This is one of the best eBay How-To books I have ever bought. A picture is worth a million words is not far off. If you can make your items stand out from the rest, your a foot up on the competition.
