What to Expect When You're Expecting by Arlene Eisenberg (1991)

Book came in great condition and also very quickly. I bought this book for my sister n law who is expecting very soon. I used this book while I was pregnant with my children and it helped answer alot of questions that I had,I would highly recommend this book for any new mother or even a mother of 4

While this book is the bible of all bibles, it is a bit outdated with some of the information provided. Also, the detail provided for each step in development is not as impressive as the information received through free services on websites on the internet that provided week by week development & pregnancy information.

For my personal situation, the major problem I found with this book is it's lack of information on multiple pregnancies. The information was completely inaccurate when compared to another very reputable book specifically for multiples, When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets, Or Quads - by Tamara Eberlein, Barbara Luke. According to that book, if you followed the recommendations of What to Expect When You're Expecting, you would be putting your pregnancy and fetuses in danger.

Overall, I found this book to be dated, and the information not being as current and accurate as I would like. If you don't have any knowledge about pregnancies or what's happening to body during your pregnancy, I would say this book would be a great starting point to learn the "basics", but not one for those of us that are technically savy and have access to the information available on the Internet and are desiring information we don't already know. Also, I would not recommend the nutritional and weight gain information for women pregnant with multiples.

This book served as a great resource throughout the entire pregnancy, every question that came up, or concern and we looked it up here. Very helpful for us.

I bought the book for our daughter-in-law who is expecting her 1st baby. The book is very informative and covers all the questions a new mother might have and then some. The price was outstanding and the book was in great condition when I received it. Both my daughter-in-law AND my son are enjoyin reading it!

I bought this book, because it was highly recommended to me now that I am expecting my first child at Christmas time. This book was great. All my questions I had about being pregnant, delivery and everything else have been answered. Even the questions that my husband had wanted to know, I was able to find them in the book. This is definately a pregnancy bible. Thanks so much!

As a first (and second) time mother, I was anxious to know what my baby and my body were going through during each stage of pregnancy. This book was so much more detailed than the pamplets at the doctors office and the other general pregnancy books. With lots of details and sidenotes, this book really put my mind at ease. I felt empowered with information to have a healthy experience and not feel so scared of the unknown.

I purchased this book for my daughter in law since being a first time mother she was getting conflicting suggestions or someones horror stories about their pregnancy. I feel the book was well written and gave great advice.

My daughter is expecting her first child and I had these books when I was pregnant with my son. It's a great source of knowledge during each month of a pregnancy. These books were quickly sent to my daughter who is enjoying them daily. I also have a copy of this book that I review to see what's going on with my daughter.

I purchased it for my daughter who is pregnant with her first child. She knows very little about childbirth and I decided that I would get her a book. I read this same book when I was pregnant and it is a very good book but later sold mine in a garage sale and now it is expensive and I got it at a great deal! Thanks, Pam

This is an absolutely WONDERFUL book! I just love it. I wish I would have had it for my 1st 3 pregnancies, it would have saved me a lot of worry. I used this book through my last 5 pregnancies and it was a lifesaver! This book covers month by month what to expect throughout your pregnancy. I loved the parts about the foods. It helped me to decide what foods I should be eating to help my baby develope at the different stages. There are so many topics covered in this book, starting with the big question: Are you pregnant? This book covers all the months of pregnancy, delivery, postpartum, breastfeeding, multiple babies and a section for the expectant father too! What to expect when you're expecting is a VERY through book. I would highly recommend this book, it is EXCELLENT!!!!!

For as long as this book has been in circulation , I include it in a gift basket for baby showers...every person I have given it to has loved it.

I had received this book with my first pregnancy. It was a lifesaver for me. I referred to this book almost on a daily basis. And 13 years later with my 3rd pregnancy I still referred to this book. I think any expactant mother and father should have one.

I received this book when I was first pregnant with my daughter. I had so many questions that if I wanted answered I would have to wait until I had a doctor's appointment. This book answered 95% of my questions. I bought this book from ebay for my sister, who is now pregnant with her first child. She was asking me a lot of questions that I answered but, I figured it was better if she had this book. This book has been a life-saver for me.

liked the books they were in great shape. the price was great. There was a little inconvenience on behalf of the seller and it took a while to receive. But all in all it was good.

This is a wonderful book for new mothers, and mothers on their third, fourth, or fifth child! It is a great all around book. Brings alot of comfort to new mothers, and is absolutely packed with information. I would recommend it to any new mom to be, to spend her ninth months reading and highlighting. :)

It is an absolute must have for any woman OR FATHER that is expecting! It has a section for you tooooo guys. LOL Women it covers all aspects of the pregnacy. From your boobs hurting and getting big, to post partum. Any ache pain you have just look it up. My book is worn out from just one pregnacy. Still in tact but I definately am not getting rid of it. It made me more knoweldgable about my pregnacy and also made me more at ease because I knew what to expect just like the title says. It is a bible for any new set of parents! And ps. It says for men to take special care of the ladies, if you can get your man to read this it is like turning on a light switch!

I bought this book because I lost the one I had when I was pregnant with my first child. Now pregnant again, it is helpful to review what I've forgotten in the last three years. The only drawback is that it isn't the most current version, but it is still very insightful.

I loved this book. I was young when I had my daughter, and I had absolutely no clue what to expect. This book took me step-by-step on what to expect through each month. I highly recommend this book to all mothers-to-be!

This book was very helpful to me when I was expecting. I had no idea what was going on half the time, and it was very valuable to have a source I could turn to. I had someone tell me, when I was pregnant, that this was the worst possible book to read, but I can't remember what their rationale was. I certainly found it to be the best of many books I read.

When I was pregnant with my first I read this book from cover to cover and never got fully informed. The answer to almost everything is "Ask your doctor". There are much better books for expecting parents than this book.

This is an excellent book for any questions yu might have but are afraid to ask. it helped me tremendously throughout my pregnancy.

this book is fantastic, it saved my ob/gyn many calls I am sure! This is a great book for a baby shower gift. I also have what to expect the first year and the toddler years, All three books are life savers! they don't leave many questions unawnsered.
