i was a skeptic... i didn't think i'd get into it. i'm not into exercising at all either. actually owning wii fit (after my partner bought it and forced me on it) has changed my mind. i''ve been out of town for a week and i miss it and can't wait to get back on it. it really takes the drag out of working out and i was shocked that it is the workout it is. you can seriously feel some burn. it starts you out slow, too, which is good for a couch potato like me and can also accomodate fitness buffs like some of our friends. i am so glad i got it!!! it's amazing!!!

We love it. I would like for Wii Fit to set up a exercise plan for each user. However, there are plenty of exercises to choose from. I love the system. I found it easy to set up and use. The whole family loves it.

*Had this for a week*

This is a great little addon for the Wii and your daily cardio. I usually just run , but now I find it great to go for a jog, then come home and do the Yoga and strength training. Seems to be working great soar in some areas I usually am not.

what an incredible workout and the balance board is very accurate on obtaining the correct weight. I decided to buy it b/c the workout seemed to be something I can do and easily keep track of my strength and weight. Even my children - 2 boys ages 8 and 5 are doing these exercises.

  WII FIT
Review created: 06/07/08

I decided to buy the WII Fit because I love my WII Sports so much. After having the WII Fit for a couple of weeks, I can honestly say, I could not be more delighted. The Yoga, Strength,Aerobics, and Balance training is fun and challenging. With about 40 activities to choose from, you are certain to find something to get you off the couch and active for far longer than you can imagine. WII Fit tracks your daily activity and also your weight and BMI (Body Mass Index). That's not necessarily a plus for those of us who start out being overweight <chuckle>, but helpful when it comes to keeping track of your progress. The graphics are entertaining and make it easier to get through some of the more tiring exercises (like jogging for 10 minutes). Plus, you can choose a personal trainer who will help you through the Yoga and Strength exercises. I could do with a little bit less "chit chat" from the WII Fit Board (it tries to be informative and humorous), but, all in all, it is quite an amazing invention. When you are trying to hold your balance on one foot for 30 seconds, ski down a slope or guide a bubble down a river, you will find out just how sensitive the board is to your every movement. The Board can also measure your strength based on the amount of pressure you are placing on it when you do push ups or other similar exercises. Some activities (like jogging), do not required usage of the board. Instead, your movement is monitored through the WII Remote (which you put in your pocket or hold in your hand). Whether you want to break into a sweat or just have some fun, the WII Fit will do the trick!

Excercise programs more challenging than I thought
Review created: 06/03/08

I picked up the Wii Fit thinking it would be an interactive game and some fun excersizes, but you can really create a good general work out experience and it grows with you. Games are really challenging too. I thought that I would ace all the games, but there is a level of precision and timing when it comes to balance and the Wii Board is very accurate at measuring. My wife likes the yoga because it has a meter that helps balance your poses to better correct your stance and placement. I like the strength training programs and they are nothing to laugh at if you do them right.

Love mine,

I absolutely love the Wii Fit. What a great investment!! Everyone should get one. I love it and my kids do too. We played together and exercised together.
It makes it possible for a busy person who works all day to come home and work out at home and have fun doing it . It was worth the price indeed. I would definetly recommend this product to everyone who wants a fun workout. Believe me you do sweat. It also encourages you because you can see your daily workout times and your progress.

  Fantastic, Revolutionary, AMAZING!!!

The Wii Fit comes in two components: the gaming software and a Wii Balance Board that you stand on. Tested to withstand all gamers regardless of your weight, the idea is that you stand on the board and then interact with the game or exercise task in front of you.

For the gamer there are plenty of Wii Sports style games, however for the fitness fan there is also a series of exercises ranging from Yoga to Circuit training.

The idea of course is that whatever you choose, you get to exercise and play at the same time.

I've had a go playing football, skiing and yoga excerises whilst also watcheing others enjoy hoola hooping and a range of other activities all designed to get you moving and shaking your stuff in front of the TV.

Training falls into four fitness categories: Aerobic Exercise, Muscle Conditioning, Yoga Poses and fun balance games.

Like Wii Sports the games or exercises are quick and linear. Those looking for a home workout can try Yoga, something in my play i found very hard. Following the simple (it was even simple on the Japanese version i played) you follow the computer animated character. Once in position you are then tasked with keeping a red dot centred inside a yellow circle. Sounds easy, but because the system works out where you are standing and what pressure you are putting where, it allows you to perfectly hone your skills.

From here you can then choose to run through a course getting progressively harder as well as the software telling you how to make improvements to your stance.

The Wii Fit also uses the Wii Balance Board for daily tests so you can monitor your weight on a daily basis. These evaluate two measurements; Body Mass Index (BMI) and Wii Fit Age, which looks at a user’s BMI reading, testing the user’s centre of gravity and conducting quick balance tests.

However where i can really see this working is making exercise fun. Skiing for example will see you go down a slope slalom style moving shifting the balance from your right to left foot. Making this a fantastic way of getting into practice for the real thing.

Rather than just the handful of games found on Wii Sports, Nintendo is promising over 40 types of training activity designed to appeal to all members of a household.

Awesome Fun and Fitness for the whole Family
Review created: 04/07/08

I bought this "game" about 5 months ago, when it was first released in Japan. Luckily enough I was able to get it for a cheap price of ¥8,800. The box will include the Wii Balance Board, the board needed to play the game which will measure your weight and balance, the Wii Fit game, and the manuals, warranty and such. When inserting the disc into the Wii console, it will first ask you to update your firmware to 3.1J, if you haven't already. And then it'll ask you to calibrate the Wii and the Wii Balance Board, and then the game will start. You will then be prompted to create a profile (up to 8), based on your Miis. And you'll begin the Initial Setup of yourself. The Wii Balance Board will measure your BMI, weight, centre of gravity, and your "Fitness Age", similar to "Brain Age" in the Brain Age game for the Nintendo DS. At first it will calculate your centre of gravity, after teaching you a short lesson on what is it. And then it will display your BMI and weight. After your BMI and weight is calculated by the board, your Mii will also calibrate with your weight. For example, if your BMI is overweight, your Mii will become fat. After the intial setup is finished, you will stamp the calendar for the day. You are recommended by the game to take the initial setup every day. This game's format is really similar to Brain Age. After all those things are finished, you can now start training. First, choose your virtual trainer. It can be a boy or a girl. There really is no difference between them, just the voices. There are 4 sections of training in this game. Yoga, Muscle Training, Aerobics, and of course, Balance Games. Each "training"s will give you points (points will be reseted each day, but you can see the total point from the day you started playing the game if you want to), and if you get enough points, new games or training modes will be unlocked. The training in this game is really efficient, and fun. After over 4 months of playing Wii Fit, my BMI had gone down from 25 (overweight) into 21 (normal). Please note that I didn't change my daily routines or daily meal. Other than the training modes, the games provided in this game, such as the Ski Jump game or the Snowboarding game, is really fun, and while you're having fun, it fixes your daily centre of gravity and makes you Fit. I'll recommend this game into anyone who wants to have a fit body, but is too lazy to go to a Gym or just wants to play some game. After 2 days of playing the game, for an additional 97 blocks you can create the "Wii Fit Channel". This will enable you to view all the charts and stuff, and even do an initial setup WITHOUT the Wii Fit game disc. And it will remind you if you haven't played Wii Fit for 1 day. I can't find anything bad about this game. Overall, I'd recommend this game to anyone.
