I bought this movie because I was extremely impressed with the first AVP movie. But this movie did not hold to my expectations. It was way too dark throughout the entire film making it hard to see what was going on. The way that the movie bounced back and forth between the humans story and the action between the Alien and Predator was very distracting. I give it an average rating because It was an OK movie. But one I would recommend renting instead of purchasing.
I found that this movie was good. It wasn't as good as the first, but the action sequences were great! The storyline was a smoothe transition from the first film and was generally easy to follow. The cinimatics were upgraded for this one so it looks more realistic. Definately worth watching.
Of all the Alien or Predator movies, this one is the biggest dissappointment. There is no central character or no building of suspense. And the filming was extremely dark. A complete let down from Alien vs Predator, which was an excellent horror movie.
This movie was ok but, a real big let down as far as remakes go. Overall, it did not have a plot to follow except for in the beginning where the movie starts. It at times was very hard to follow. It did have alot of blood and guts if you are into that kind of thing. For me this was not as good as the first one.
Let me first begin by telling you that my movie viewing expierence is extensive, and I like to think that my reviews of movies are fairly accurate for the modern man, or woman. Review for Aliens Vs. Predator Unrated: I rented this movie yesterday in hopes that I would see a better version of the last AvP, or at least more of the same. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being Moonstruck and 10 being a top notch Blockbuster action movie, too many to come up with an good one at the moment, I would give this version a great big two thumbs down 5. The Cons: Almost the whole entire movie was way way too dark. Usually its just a scene or two where its somewhat dark and then it goes back to a lighted scene. Not this movie, dark pretty much from beginning to end, probably about 30 minutes of it total where you can actually see whats happening. Alot of the "gore" scenes where kind of cheesy and exactly the same as previous AvP's, such as when a alien baby pops out of its human hosts stomach. They show this same gore effect repeatedly, a definet overuse which resulted in it losing most of its impact power. Most of the main actors did a poor job overall, I wasnt convinced of really anything. Not much of a plot or story, if there was it was hard to remember it past all the alien babies poping out of peoples stomachs. Pros: Predator. He added some excitment. He even has some scenes where he actually DOESNT kill everything in site and lets some things live. My final assesment: If they decide to do another installment of this series, maybe it should be called PVP, Predator Vs. Predator!
