Hi there everybody! I just had to take the time to tell you all about this amazing CD, the new Joe Cocker "Ultimate Collection", and first off, the album seriously lives up its name...it is indeed an "ultimate collection". I'm a huge Joe Cocker fan, always have been, so of course when I first heard about this album coming out I had to run to the store to get it. Now, if you're as big of a Joe Cocker fan as I, or even if you've ever browsed his section of Amoeba, you'd know that the man has tons of compilation CD's, so what makes this one "ultimate"? How about the fact that its the only Joe Cocker compilation CD to date that covers his entire 30 year singing career, starting from 1969-1999. There is such a wide array of his songs from over the years, from the classics like "With A Little Help From My Friends" and "Feelin' Alright" up through a couple of live performances of "The Letter" and "Cry Me A River" and even includes his love ballad "You Are So Beautiful" and "Up Where We Belong". On at least every CD I have there's usually one song I skip, but this is one of the few that I can listen to all the way through and never get bored. So if you're a Joe Cocker fan, definitely check out this compilation, and even if you're not a fan, you couldn't find a better album to start you off on Joe Cocker right. No joke, I've already converted 3 previous non-Joe Cocker fans into fans by having them listen to this album alone....the most common response I got was "Wow! I had no idea he did sang this one too!" Either way you go, you can't go wrong, fan or not, this album will pull you in.
