It's not the funniest movie of the year.
When OPEN RANGE was released in the moviehouses I passed on it. Like some other folks I am a little ambivalent about Kevin Costner's projects, and I decided to take a pass on this one. I guess I still have a little trouble with the memory of Costner every time I think about those wonderful scenes of him relieving himself in the opening shots of WATERWORLD. However, since I am at heart a lover of American westerns, I figured I finally had to see this one, even if it was one of Kevin's babies.
