Very Practical comparison of Many Products. There are Sections for Restaurants, Grocery Foods, and Holiday Meals. I have bought 2 of these books for my family and the have REALLY used the information, and not just used it as a coffee table book
What an eye opener! This book tells you about what you are REALLY eating. I liked that it listed common menu items as well as popular faves at local restraunts. Any family that eats out on a regular basis needs to read this book.
Truthfully, I would like to see some sales commissions from David Zinczenko. My wife is a manager at Gold's Gym and I bought her a copy of this book .. after she started showing it around the gym about 47 other people had to have the book. I think if there was a Gold's Best Seller List, this book would be number one. One of our friends on the Syracuse PD has all the guys on his shift eating thin crust pizza.
Read my title above. Explains it all. I'm an ex-athlete, now 48, starting to see the pounds roll on. NOW I know why. I have two copies of this book; one in my reading room (guys you know what I mean), and one in the wifes purse. I'm actually ENJOYING going food shopping, buying items from the right side pages of the book (the good stuff to eat). The book pays for itself in about the 1st 5 minutes....and might help me avoid a heart-attack.
This book tells you everything you want to know about smart choices in restaurants and grocery stores. Did you know that a bran muffin and mocha from Starbucks is more calories than the Black Forest Ham breakfast sandwich and a skinny latte??? It's a must have for learning to make wise choices!
Saw it in the store for full price, and didnt want to pay full price. I decided to look online for it and found it for much less. Satisfied with purchase.
This is an excellent book that helps you evaluate food choices when you are eating out. It had some surprising information about food that I had - up to this point - thought was a healthy food choice. It is written in a format that is clear and easy to understand.
An informative book, great for people who eat out alot, especially those who eat fast food. It opens your eyes to the healthier choices, or will at least make you feel guiltier about your bad choices ;) A few complaints, not enough variety in menu items, and could use more explanations on why particular foods arent good choices, but it is a great start! Buy it! It is worth at least gaining a few bits of knowledge!
I am amazed at how many funny conversations start because of this book, hahaha!!! I love the way the book is layed out also, its broken down by, not only deserts, meals, appetizers, but by the actual restaraunts too!!! And best of all its super user-friendly, and actually fun to use!!! I also like that they include ALOT of actual facts to back up and explain the reasons why one item is "Better/Smarter" than another.
Wow have I been out to lunch! I thought a salad I had at Wendy's was better then getting a sandwich, I was wrong. This simple guide really helps with making better food choices while traveling or eating out.
I would have never though that some of the so called "healthy" foods that i've been eating are worse than some of the "junk" foods. This book opened my eyes to the reality of what i can and should eat, and some of the things that i should avoid like the plague!! Excellent book.
This book gives you a lot of great info, but the only thing it's missing is the breakdown of the entire menu for all of the places in the book. It chooses 4 or 5 things to eat or not eat when you have 20 or more different things to choose from. You do learn a lot of good information and I would suggest buying this if you care about what you eat.
I bought the Eat this not that book, a week ago and was immediately surprised by its content. Who would have thought the stuff we are eating was this bad, even things like grilled chicken may be a bad choice at some of these places. It is a good start in educating ourselves on the excess calories that we eat when eating out. The next step is to expand this book to include the rest of the menus from these places; as many of these restaurants aren't going to help us out in watching our diets as they do not want us to know a lot of this stuff.
I purchased this book but did not receive it. I ordered it because I felt I wanted to eat more healthy and this is exactly what this book is designed to do. I will now have to purchase it from Barnes & Noble.
Thi sbooki was very insightful, I especially like the fact that it tells you the actual facts not just what you think is good for you. LIke you would think a chicken salad at Chic Fil A is best when actually the grilled chicken sandwish is the best, and things like that. Good buy!!!
This book has all the answers. We keep this book on us at all times. Just using this book alone we have lost about 15 pounds in two months. No Joke! The real deal Holyfield!

This book is fantastic. It has all of the up to date foos item that are in stores today. It shows what is good and what is bad in a clear format. It is kind of a eating healthy for dummies type of format. Everything is laid out and it is very informative with extra facts sprinkled through out the book. It is a really good read for those who struggle with traditional diets.
