Planet Earth/The Blue Planet: Seas of Life (2007, DVD)

I enjoyed the specs and the scenery and information was very useful. I was completely amazed at the photography used in this creation . I am amazed the capture of items not let able to be observed as directly as this protrayed.
I have had a hard time keeping my children from taking it from me as they loved it also. It is just such a outstanding production.

This is easily one of the most entertaining and visually stunning documentaries / mini-series ever made. From the deep-sea footage, to the plains of Africa, it's all covered here in up-close and in-your-face detail. Paired with the excellent commentary by David Attenborough, watching these has become a weekend pastime for my kids and I. I would recommend these to anyone interested in nature, learning more about the planet we live on, or even interested in just watching some amazing footage.

These DVD's are positively phenomenal. The BBC has outdone themselves on the quality of graphics and pictures in these shows. I was very impressed in the set that I got. The price was way below what just the Planet Earth set would have costed (and I got both). I saw these DVD's in HiDef format and they were beautiful.

BBC consistently produces the best nature series programs I've seen. After watching the series on Discovery channel, buying the DVD sets is an automatic next step. They are the best nature / science programs available.

I love everything about this Documentary. I grew up on Discovery Channel watching animals and learning about them. What I love most about these 2 titles, is that they show you different angles as opposed to the traditional camera angles. They actually show these animals up-close while hunting or going about their business. And the sky views are amazing. You also see some of these animals doing things that you never thought they would do, like for instance, killer whales killing a baby grey whale. You'll also see some weird animals that look like they came from Sci-fi movies. I think this is a must for animal lovers. I give it 2 thumbs up.

Nothing can be compared against these beautiful eposided of our own blue planet and seas of life. I will recommend this to everyone who enjoys nature.

If this series doesn't win something of a huge award at some point then I am no judge of amazing documentaries. Many times I asked myself, how on earth did they get this footage (pun totally intended). I wouldn't be surprised if Biology teachers start supplementing their curriculum with the planet earth/blue planet series. Well done, informative narration, amazing footage.

This DVD series is fabulous because of the educational aspects but also because of the beautiful film footage that takes you to places on the earth and in the ocean that you rarely would see anywhere else. My son took the set to school for his second-grade class to watch during rainy days when they couldn't go outside. The teacher and kids were drawn in to the stories and information in the series, and kept asking to see more.

Yes, it does put me to sleep, but thats in a good way. You see, the narrator's voice is so calming, coupled with a very serene musical score, and the great visuals...it gets me in a very meditative mood, followed by a strong desire to doze off. Thats the only complaint I have. Otherwise, its worth the $40 bucks I payed for both Planet Earth and Blue Planet. Thank you for choosing to waste precious time reading my boring review, time that will never return. Lost. The series also gets you to think. Hope that doesn't scare you off.

Nature filming in the Planet Earth DVD's is excellent!! Blue planet is also an excellent view of the seas!

Great documentary show everything about the blue planet and the green planet, my kids watch it everyday once or twice

i haven't seen every single episode, but i watched several of them as they appeared on the discovery channel. i was utterly amazed by the footage i saw in front of me. i really gave me a whole new respect for the earth. so many things out there that we don't even know exist! WOW! props to the makers of this series. well worth watching!

Everyone should take the time to see how beautiful our planet Earth is...and what can be lost! This set of DVD was so well produced with breathtaking views of our little planet called Earth with all its inhabitants.

Wow this is really a grand DVD no wonder that Disney will bring this series to the big screen. As is they are on the works for a series of this type as this one in DVD's and maybe even as a 3D and that would be just wonderful. I do see the need of this series, it may change the way we see the problems we as humans will face soon if a change is not at hand in a near future, as equal the animal kingdom and what the planet is going with to much wast and pollution.

It was very informative and interesting. The videography was good and the science was reasonably sound.

Magnificent images, well narrated, interesting for all ages. A fantastic series! Each episode makes you feel as if you are right there as the footage is being shot. There is incredible quality to all of the cinematography.
