Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Xbox 360)

It is very realistic and is up to date in the modern warfare part. You dont have to actually unload a whole clip to kill someone. The single player part of the game is awesome as well.

Games do not get any better than this. After playing COD 3, COD 4 is a vast improvement and an unbelievable experience in gaming. From running for your life on a sinking ship to the missions throughout, this game is sure to please. Currently I can not find one thing I am dissapointed with in this game. Bravo to COD 4.

Call of Duty 4 has great graphics, amazingly accurate weapons, and a very cool storyline. If you have played any other Call of Duty, the controls are basically the same (with a few added options). One area where I thought the game lacked was in content length. I got through the game on the medium level in about 10-12 hours of play. The coolest part is the AC130 gunship.

Great multiplayer system, that includes a "create-a-class" option where if you rank-up enough, you can make a class that for example, has sniper-like abilities and a 'super-fast' reload with an 'uber' customized assult rifle. Also the graphics engine is Dolby Digital. Overall, great gameplay and graphics.

The World War II first-person shooter genre is officially dead and buried. So sayeth the folks at Infinity Ward, developers of the celebrated Call of Duty series. This is the franchise (along with EA’s Medal of Honor series) that brought the genre to a new level of immersion and intensity that we had never seen before. However, thanks to a glut of imitators (some quite good, some terrible), gamers quickly tired of the WWII shooter, especially ones that didn’t offer any new gameplay mechanics or innovations. Now, with the upcoming release of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, they’re about to relegate the WWII shooter to history’s dustbin. Infinity Ward has succeeded in creating a masterpiece of the first-person shooter genre, adeptly blending an intense, story-driven single-player campaign with an addictive multiplayer mode.

Modern Warfare kicks off with a brief tutorial designed to teach the player about the game’s controls, followed by a trip through a testing area. Though this was created to determine which difficulty level the player should attempt, this editor highly recommends that hardcore shooter fans play on the Hardened difficultly level. Like Halo 3, the normal level is just a bit too easy, and most players will be able to get through it without too much trouble. There have been a lot of people questioning how long Call of Duty 4 is, and the answer depends mainly on how you want to experience the game. Personally, I found that 8-10 extremely intense hours on Hardened was more fun than 6-7 very intense hours on Regular. As you might have gathered, this is one hell of an intense ride no matter what difficultly you play on.

While the previous Call of Duty games simply followed characters through their particular WWII campaigns, Infinity Ward decided to scrap that approach in favor of a tight narrative structure. The plot is seemingly ripped right out of the headlines, touching on everything from Islamic fundamentalism to missing Soviet-era warheads, as well as a number of other hot-button issues. I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting too much from the story, as I’ve seen all of this Tom Clancyesque stuff before. However, I’m happy to say that I was blown away by just how engaging and immersive it was. Modern Warfare features a number of stunning plot-driven sequences, and the fact that many of these scenes are shown from the first-person perspective only makes them that much more gripping.

Part of what makes the story so great is the fact that you’ll actually feel an emotional attachment to the soldiers fighting alongside you. These aren’t just a bunch of random dudes who run into battle with you, although there are a few of them here and there. Instead, you’ll spend the majority of your time watching their backs as they watch yours, and you’ll likely come to enjoy the interplay between your teammates. The British S.A.S. squad is particularly memorable, and we’re sure that Capt. Price and Gaz will go down as two of the most beloved supporting characters in the history of the Xbox 360. To say that Capt. Price is one of gaming’s biggest badasses is an understatement, and we really hope that he gets a spin-off of his very own in the future.

Although some people out there might gripe that they can’t give orders to their teammates or some such nonsense, we found that not only could our squadmates hold their own in battle, they were actually too good at times.

As an FPS fan, i enjoyed this games semi-realism (especially the flash-bangs) and close-to-life recoil action. The graphics are astounding although you look around and can't see the person whom you are playing, (Seriously! Sitting in the chopper, you look down to your feet and you're invisible!) But the game shows many scenarios of action, outdoors and indoors, with a variety of different weapons. With this being the first game I've played of the series I can't note any real differences between this and the previous versions, but overall a very enjoyable game and worthwhile challenge for veteran players.

Game of the year! Has it all, graphics, multiplayer, intense action. Will be one of the main games for xbox for years to come. We use it every day and enjoy the challenge of team play across the internet.

This game's story mode is very good, but the real game lies within the online multiplayer version. If you like First Person Shooter games, then you will be addicted as soon as you pick this title up for sure.

Best shooter game ive played, campaign mode rocks,, but the online multiplayer modes are unrivaled, ive played the new games like: Frontlines fuel of war, Army of two(online demo ver.), Medal of honor, you name it i played it, but this call of duty 4 game out does them all hands down.

It took awhile, but Infinity Ward finally got the message that World War II is played out. With modern times and international affairs becoming more and more, shall we say, interesting in recent years, the 1940s just don't carry as much weight as they used to. Perhaps that's why Call of Duty 4 has a new subtitle, Modern Warfare. By bringing things into a fictionalized story that still seems fairly plausible, the developer has made a much heavier game. But COD 4 is more than just an updated setting. It's also an amazing multiplayer first-person shooter and a great but brief single-player campaign with the visual chops to make it a standout shooter in an era filled with seemingly dozens of standout shooters.

cd's is very clean and nice. but it's not new. but got everything inside. and this cod4 is number one game in 2008 that's why i liked it

The game play is excellent! The graphics are superb and the game has an excellent storyline. I purchased this game to play with my friends online through my Xbox Live account.

I like that it was only $42 than $60 or $55 game work fine played it about 10 times. It hasn't messed up anything yet so it was a great deal with fast shipping.

i decided to buy it for myslef because the graphics are more realistic then the other shooting games out there.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare, is easily the best game for the pc and the best FPS game of 2007, the graphics is of the 3rd generation, and it runs smoothly on the highest settings even on a mid-end machine like my own:

intel dual 1.8ghz (old one not DUO 2)
ATI HD2600XT
and 1 gig RAM

this rig is today probably a low-mid range... but it runs the game smoothly on the highest settings.
unlike "other" games (Crysis *ahem*) CoD4 (Call of Duty 4) does not require to spend tons of cash on a new pc.

now the game itself is amazing, the visuals are unbealivbly realistic, and play it long enough and you feel like you really in the game.
the game does a great job on animation making a lifelike movements by the characters in the game.

sounds. the sounds are too of the highest level and you can hear almost everything you'd expect to hear in a real life shooting range and war.
the footsteps and bullets, the explosions and your teamates comments\orders are truly realistic and authentic.

the singleplayer campign is rather short but alot of fun! about 10 hours for first play and can be halve by expirience players.
i myself played the game twice on meium difficulty and once on Hard mode...
the differnce in difficulty is huge, in easy you can almost run through all the enemies in an area without diying and in Hard mode you cant take more than 3 hits in a row before you die.
so for anyone looking for a challange, there is one here :) .

when you successfully finish the story mode you get some bonus "cheats" to help you beat it again, some of them are more useful than other (unlimited ammunition, and grenades that when explode turns into 4 other grenades that cause more area damage and really devestating effect)

after you've beated the single player mode you're up to the multiplayer where the REAL action begins, you can compete with your friends and against them, you level up in ranks and gain new weapons and items to kill your enemies. and true challange and a new expirince for those who loves FPS games.

CoD4 is a must to any FPS gamer and is recomended to anyone who likes action and fast paced games.

The game does not work correctly and it always thinks there are scratches on the game when i cleaned it several times I still cannot play.

this is absolutely the best game out there, it has the best graphics bar none!...the game play in single player mode is awesome,,,but the online xbox live play is incredible!
