Pros:
Johnny Depp. Very entertaining movie.

Cons:
None for me

I first saw a poster for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl when I went to see Finding Nemo. Not long after that, I started to see previews for the movie and I decided that I wanted to see it. I ve seen some other pirate movies, like Treasure Planet, that I enjoyed. I've also read some books dealing with pirates that I found fascinating. I heard more about the movie, and that just made me want to see it even more. I was really looking forward to seeing it. I had high expectations for the movie, and I wasn't disappointed at all. I'm already planning to see it again and I will be getting the DVD once it is out.

A girl, Elizabeth Swann, was traveling on a ship with her father, Governor Weatherby Swann. She was singing a pirate song, and one of the crew members told her to stop because it was bad luck. She told her father that she was fascinated by pirates. He was less than thrilled to hear that. Elizabeth spotted a boy floating in the ocean. He was brought on board and Elizabeth s father told her to look after him. He woke up briefly and said his name was Will Turner. He was wearing a medallion. Elizabeth took it. There were parts of a ship on fire and bodies floating in the ocean. Elizabeth saw a ship sailing off with black sails.

The movie then jumped forward several years. Elizabeth woke up from a dream about the day she and Will met. She got the medallion out and put it on. Then her father arrived at her room with a new dress for her. He wanted her to wear it to a ceremony when Norrington would get a promotion. She was having trouble being able to breathe because of the corset she had to wear with the dress. Will and Elizabeth had remained friends, though he didn t feel like he was worthy since he worked as a blacksmith. After the ceremony, Norrington proposed to Elizabeth, who fainted and fell into the ocean.

Captain Jack Sparrow arrived in town on a boat that was slowly sinking. He was looking to get a ship while in town. He was attempting to get a ship when he saw Elizabeth fall into the ocean. He jumped in and saved her, only to be arrested because he was a pirate. He tried to escape, but he got into a sword fight with Will, and was then captured. He was to be hung the next day.

That night, the Black Pearl, a pirate ship, sailed into the harbor and attacked. Stories were told about the Black Pearl, and some people didn t believe it really existed. Many people were killed and Elizabeth was kidnapped. Will saw that she was being taken, but he was knocked out before he could do anything. The next day, he wanted to do something to get her back. He attempted to get help from the authorities, but they brushed him off. He turned to Jack because he d spoken of the Black Pearl and Will thought he might know how to find the ship. Will and Jack struck a bargain and headed off to find the Black Pearl and rescue Elizabeth.

The captain of the Black Pearl, Barbossa, wanted the medallion Elizabeth had for something. IT was very important to him and his men. It was tied to the curse they all suffered. Barbossa needed the medallion to end the curse. Will and Jack got a crew and headed after the Black Pearl. Will discovered that Jack had some secrets.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl was released on July 9, 2003. The movie was about two and a half hours long and rated PG-13. It had that rating for a reason. This was not a movie for children. People shouldn't assume that because the movie was made by Disney that it is meant for children. It isn't. The movie was made for adults. There wasn t any swearing in the movie, but there was some violence. People who don t like pirate movies probably won t like this movie either.

I really liked Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. The movie grabbed my attention right from the beginning. The movie kept my interest throughout. I wasn t bored by anything that went on in the movie. There was a lot going on in the movie, and it was fast paced, but it didn t seem rushed to me.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl was an adventure movie. Jack was just trying to get a ship when he ended up in the middle of a huge mess. Will left his life behind to try to rescue Elizabeth. Over the course of the movie, Jack made more than one escape attempt. There were sword fights and battles on ships. There was a lot of action in the movie. There were explosions at different times during different battles.

There was violence in several scenes of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. There were a few sword fights, and people were stabbed. Blood was shown more than once. People were shot as well. Near the beginning of the movie, three skeletons were shown hanging. Later in the movie, some were shown laying around. The movie wasn t really violent, but it is probably too violent for some people. It is too violent for children.

There were a few moments in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl that could be scary for some people, especially children. I didn t think the movie was scary though. There were a few suspenseful scenes in the movie. It wasn t a really suspenseful movie. There were some things that happened in the movie that were predictable, but I didn t think the entire movie was predictable.

There were some supernatural elements in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. The crew of the Black Pearl was cursed because they took some gold that had been cursed. They needed the medallion Elizabeth had to end the curse. There were men who appeared to be skeletons when they were in moon light. The skeletons had to have been done with special effects of some sort. The effects were fairly good. They weren t used throughout the whole movie. There were just a few scenes that contained the skeletons.

Will and Elizabeth had feelings for each other, but neither acted on them. Their feelings were apparent when they were together. They didn t have many scenes together, and there wasn t much of their relationship shown. Because of that there really wasn t any romance in the movie. There were no sex scenes or nudity. Elizabeth was shown in her under garments and nightgown a few times. Some of the men had their shirts off, but that was it for any skin shown.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl wasn t really a comedy, but there were some funny moments in the movie. It was really funny to see Jack sail into the harbor on his sinking ship. Most of it was under water. A lot of the things that I thought were funny were things that were said or done by Jack. He was a unique character that made me laugh a lot. There were a few other things, usually something a character said, that made me laugh.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl was made by Disney. The movie was based on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride from one of the Disney parks. I have been to a few of the parks, but I haven t been to the one with the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. I don t know if there was some kind of story told on the ride that mentioned Jack, Will, and the Black Pearl or not. I think the song Elizabeth sang is in the ride, but I m not sure. The movie was directed by Gore Verbinski. I ve seen two other movies that he has directed, The Mexican and The Ring. Both of those movies were very different from this one.

The acting was wonderful in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Johnny Depp was amazing as Jack Sparrow. He is a very talented actor. Jack talked with a bit of an accent, and he always sounded like he was at least partially drunk. Depp kept that accent and the sounding drunk consistent through the whole movie. He also gave Jack this unique sort of a stumbling walk that made him look like he was going to fall on his face at any moment. He walked that way through the entire movie. He also used a lot of unique hand jesters and motions. His face and eyes were very expressive throughout the movie. There were times when he was doing something that made it seem like Jack wasn t too swift, but then there would be a glimmer in his eye, and I knew that he was up to something. He said and did some things that I thought were very funny. Johnny Depp became Jack Sparrow. I completely forgot I was watching Johnny Depp. It was an amazing performance. I ve seen him in some other movies, like Sleepy Hollow and The Ninth Gate. I thought he was good in those movies as well. Those roles were very different from Jack. He really has the ability to become his characters.

Orlando Bloom was also very good in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. He was very believable in his role as Will. He spoke with an accent that remained the same throughout the movie. It didn t come and go like has happened with some actors in other movies. He is also talented. He has made a few other movies, but I ve only seen him as Legolas in two of The Lord of the Rings movies. Will was different from Legolas, though both characters did some impressive sword fighting. Orlando also looked completely different, having dark hair instead of the long blonde hair he had when playing Legolas.

I ve only seen Geoffrey Rush in a few movies, but he is a good actor. Barbossa was different from the other characters I ve seen him play. He also had an accent that remained consistent through the whole movie. Geoffrey Rush recently provided the voice for a character in Finding Nemo. I have never seen Keira Knightly in any movies before this. She is very beautiful and was able to light up her scenes. I think she has just been in productions in England before this. She was very good as Elizabeth. I hope she turns up in more movies.

There were several characters in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. I thought that Jack, Will, and Elizabeth were the main characters. They were the most developed characters in the movie. I thought Jack was the most interesting character in the movie, though I also liked Will and Elizabeth. Barbossa did play an important part in the movie, but he wasn t in as much of the movie or as developed. Elizabeth s father was more of a one-dimensional character and only in a few scenes. Norrington was rather flat as well. There were several pirates that made up Barbossa s crew that weren t developed at all. Once Will and Jack agreed to go after Elizabeth, they also got a crew. Those pirates weren t developed either.

CHARACTERS

Jack Sparrow - Pirate captain who lost his ship. He was looking to get a new ship when saved Elizabeth and was then arrested. He talked about the Black Pearl a lot. He had his own plan and secrets. He was a bit flamboyant and enjoyed drinking rum.

Will Turner - He was rescued from the ocean by Elizabeth. He worked with a blacksmith, who was passed out drunk most of the time. Will actually made the swords, though everyone assumed the blacksmith did. He loved Elizabeth, though he didn t act on his feelings. He didn t think he was good enough for her.

Elizabeth Swann - She was the Governor s daughter. She had feelings for Will and was very friendly to him. She seemed to be annoyed because he insisted on remaining formal. She liked adventure and was very brave.

Barbossa - Pirate captain of the Black Pearl. He and his men were cursed. They wanted to end the curse. He made agreements with people, though he usually found loopholes in them.

I loved Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. The movie was engrossing, entertaining, and fun. It was not a serious movie or a movie for children. I can t wait to see it again and I will definitely be getting the DVD once it comes out.
