I purchased this box set because it's an awesome series that I'd seen on TV and wanted to include in my library. The price was fabulous via half.com and although I have not viewed it yet, I did see it on TV and it was INCREDIBLE and it arrived packaged in shrink wrap so I have no doubt these are INCREDIBLE as well.

The Work is Great and It MattersThe actual documentary is truly a masterpiece. However, the packaging is flimsy and susceptible to the slightest of wear and tear. A specific example: The DVDs are very loosely clipped to their appropriate holders in the box set. The art is nice, but again, the box that holds the DVDs will get dents over time. Humidity and temperature variation will eventually damage the DVDs, as well, which can be scratched inside the box set when it is moved.

Planet Earth PBS DVDPlanet Earth PBS DVD was a great product and for the cost was totally worth it. The clarity of the DVD and the type of animal camera shots where extronary. The colors where robust and brilliant, just like I was there in the wild. Other than going in person along with the danger that you would encounter you get to sit back and enjoy the hard work that PBS put together in making this video. Also the seller here on Ebay was excellent in Shipping and buying it with "Buy it Now" price was a significant reduction from buying retail. I would recommend others in buying this video and also by the seller I bought from as he was excellent in communication, product and shipping.

Planet EarthAwesome photography and very interesting...takes you on journeys to all parts of the Planet. Just Amazing Scenes of nature! Cool stuff also on how they got some of the shots. A must see for all! Some animal fights and persuits may be a bit strong for children.

Planet EarthWhen I watched this series on the TV last year, I was so amazed at the time and effort put into this incredible documentary. I still get chills watching this series. You feel as if you are actually traveling the world with this group. Awesome film!!

This is another BBC masterpiece. There were things about animal life I learned despite a lifetime of travelling, wataching and studying. Both 5th grade up students and adults will really enjoy this series and watch it many times.

Entertaining and educational!This DVD set is incredible! It contains outstanding video footage and it is educational as well. At the end of each segment, it provides a diary of what it took to obtain some of the rare footage. This is a must have for everyone's home.

Ihad been looking to purchase this for a while. This is one of the best series that I have ever seen. As much as I got this for my children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, greatnieces and greatnephews, I wanted it in my video library as well. There are things that we may never see again. the footage, photography, and narration are unbelievable. This is something that I will watch many times over.

This is such a great series! I only saw a few of the episodes when they were telecast on Discovery Channel, and they were the US version with Sigourney Weaver as narrator. I work in a high school and the science teachers were showing the BBC version with David Attenborough as narrator. I enjoy his tone and cadence much more.
Just the photography itself is breathtaking! The "diaries" at the end are fun to watch because they explain how they got the shots for that segment.
Each segment is about an hour long, and for me, that was long enough. Watching more than one in a sitting would be difficult because they are so full of information. But one hour is a good length.
I highly recommend this series.
