The Departed (2007, DVD)

i never got the DVD, i ordered it a while ago and it never came, the other dvd i ordered with it came over a month ago....still waiting, and the best part is i am in the military, and have been moved to a new duty station, so if it ever comes to that address, i wont be there...thanks

Loved it! Watched it three times and will watch it again in the future. This is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time.
The end is a shocker and kind of a letdown, but then you have to rewatch it to pick up on parts that you missed. You understand certain points of the movie better after rewatching it. You've got to pay attention!

The seller didn't send it. After attempting to contact the seller numerous times, he did not respond and then was not a member anymore.

this movie is confusing at times but very good and at the end you will understand the whole movie. i was at the edge of my sit and didnt want to miss a part because is very good. it is worth the money and a must have for collectors!!!

Classic good vs. evil battle, spun violently out of control. I loved it, hated it and then loved it again all the first time I watched it. Excellent actors coupled with quarky characters and a great set of plot twists make this movie a must have.

I love this movie. After I rented it and loved it I needed to buy it. The movie is so exciting, I mean none of the things in it would ever happen to me and I think that partly why I really like it. Leonardo Dicaprio is amazing in it as are the other characters. Everyone is very convincing it's none of that crap where your like yeah like that would ever happen to them. They make you believe them.

I am so happy I purchased the Dvd, I have watched once and it was thrilling. The acting was brilliant. Jack Nicholson was as always fabulous to watch on the screen. Martin Scorsese scored another home run for the direction of this film.
I could not stop thinking about the movie after I watched it. It deserves another viewing as the plot twists and turns you may miss something the first time.

I dont know about you... but this has to be probably the best movie out this decade. I dont remember what movie has been better written, acted, executed like this one. I was just amazed even with MATT DAMON... yes i said MATT DAMON.... he was incredible. Ok not incredible but he did a good job. If I was gay, I would prob have leo bare my children cuz he did an tremendous awesome job. Man I sound like im all over his jock strap. Jack did an awesome job too. If you dont own this... please buy this movie because it is the best movie ever. OKay is that enough hype? haha

This is a great movie! Jack Nicholson is tremendous as the bad guy, and Leonardo Dicaprio shows the great talent that is coming to light. This is one not to miss. Highly recommend!!

Director Martin Scorsese is right on (again) in this movie. It is a emakeof an asian fiulm and he took his own slant on it and made a really really great film. As per his norm the song selection is masterful to coincide w/ the shots they are supporting. Great "feel" in this movie of dread and living on the edge, as a covert spy will do. I liked this alot and recommend it to anyone who likes mob/action/bloody/violent movies.

WOW!! I really appreciate great acting when I watch a movie. Besides that, I look for a movie that has drama, action, mystery, laughter, and a little bit of wondering after the movie is over...That is what this movie gives you! I HOPE that you have your POPCORN ready with your night clothes on and your better half laying beside you for this movie.

I can describe it as a sort of GOOD COP, BAD COP, mystery on who is actually the good cop and who is the bad. Who is undercover and who isn't? Who dies and who doesn't die? YOU WILL BE SHOCKED!! YOU WILL BE HAPPY!! YOU WILL BE SAD!! You will have so many mixed feelings that come up during parts of the movie that, in the end, when the movie is over, and when you have thought to yourself...What the Hell just happened? You will watch it again just to make sure you did not miss anything. TRUST ME and GET THIS MOVIE!!!

...then BUY this movie!! All-star casts have made me skeptical but this movie just threw my opinions out the window. The twists Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon, and Leonardo DiCaprio throw your way are just amazing! You have to pay attention to this movie, but unlike other "thrillers", you don't mind, and this one keeps you on the extreme edge of your seat the whole way through. It does have plenty of blood, violence, and cussing, but once you get past that it's completely worth it!

My score? 5 very bright stars out of 5!

Lots of twist. Even though you are allowed to know who is on what side of good and evil you still don't know how many are on the bad guys side till the very end. I had to watch it twice to get a grip on this one. It has it all, Sex, violence, drugs, cops and robbers, The mafia. The question is who is who?
Based in the NE USA it has all the ties from the old neighborhoods. Some kids went one way, others went another way. But even when a kid from the wrong side of the tracks goes the right way society keeps pulling him back.
The only person not killed in this movie is the director. Very violent.
WHile I did enjoy it, It did lack something in the story telling. It needed more time to lay it all out more clearly. It left many lose ends. I smell sequal all over this one.

This movie is pretty good, one thing i find awkward about it is that why are there these so many oscar winning actors in there all in one film.

I did not like this movie at all. The reasons this movie did not make my list are too many. Alot of good actors in the film though. I would recommend this movie for a one time rental and that's all.

Received this DVD in great condition. It was a little late but I received it a couple of weeks after I ordered it along with 3 other DVD's that I did not receive. I will never buy anything else from this seller.

bought it because people encourge me to see it and i enjoyed watching it very much... and dvd came in just like brand new, hand good sound, picture, quality,,, can't complaint.. LOVED IT.

I thought it was a great action movie, very interesting. I was a little disappointed in the ending, however I know other people who loved it. Overall, I would definitely recommend it.

Throughout the entire movie, I was on the edge of my seat. This movie is full of suspense, and trauma. I was disappointed in the ending.

Jack at his best. All actors in this movie were excellent but the standout in my opinion was Jack Nicholson. Not for the faint at heart. Very bloody!!

This movie is just another Goodfellas -- only this time, we have crooked cops in the mix. I personally don't mind if a movie has profanity, vulgar speech, nudity, or violence -- as long as these are essential elements to the telling of the story. But this movie makes the foul language and gratuitous violence its centerpiece and sacrifices all possible artistic elements to that end -- in all too gaudy Quentin Tarantino style. In fact, they should have given the Oscar to Tarantino for his profound influence on Scorsese. It's as riveting as an average Jerry Springer show. If you must see it, by all means rent it, and avoid the embarassment of having it in your own personal DVD collection.

One of the Best Dramas to Come out this Year!! The Departed is Loaded with Real Talent with Leonardo Dicaprio and Matt Damon to list only a couple! This is one Twisted Police drama where the Good are Bad and the Bad are even worse and will keep you on edge through to the credits. The Body Count quickly gets out of hand as the Plots twists and turns, taking the lives of stars you would never expect!! I have this movie in my DVD library and once you see it I believe you will agree! Thanks for Reading!!

Martin Scorsese rarely fails to deliver and this movie is no exception. Wonderful cast and superb production. Excellent film highly recommended.

i watched this movie and the reason i chose average as my rating is because,the director didn't leave much for the watcher to figure out ,you are lead by the hand all the way through the movie ,the only time i was almost supprised was near the end ,but even that was ruined for me because they tell you what jack n, is up to with the fed's.
in my opinon it could have been much better!!!
