The Purpose Driven Life by Richard Warren, Rick Warren (2002)

No other self-help book causes you to take a good look inside of yourself and understand why you are here on this earth. I bought many copies to share with friends so they could experience the wonderful awakening that I did.

It is an AWESOME book. Every household should have at least one copy!

I really enjoyed reading this book. The author provided detailed instructions based upon biblical scriptures and examples (his and others) to support his teachings. Each chapter is a new instruction on how to make the best of life and to be read in a day. There are 40 chapters in this book. If the reader carefully reads each chapter (per day) and apply it to his/her daily activities, it will make a positive difference in his/her life. It sure did for me. I don't think any book (other than the Bible) has the perfect answers to life's questions... but this book is one of the top on my list. If you want to encourage someone ... this is one of the better gifts to give.

I bought this book for a friend,having been in the process of still reading the it myself. After the very first chapter you know it is going to be a worthwile book. They Purpose Drive Life is very interesting and helps people gain a better understanding of the life God gave them and what is expected of us. I recommend this book to everyone, especially if you are a Christian. It will help you to better grasp the value that you have in God's eyes and show you how to establish a relationship with God that is worth having. I give it 5 stars.

I bought this book for my grown grandson who needs to realize why God created him and his purpose in this short life.

this is a very good book. this will help everyone ask the question what is the purpose of my life. we as people never really know why we were born why we exist. well from this book i have the question i have been wanting to know all my life. i hope you pick up this book because you will need it

Great book. Seems like you learn something different each time you read it.
It has helped me focus more on where I want out of life and which direction I want my life to go. I highly recommend this book for anyone and for any reason. I is a very good book to add to your library.

This book is full of error. It is not to be trusted and it has caused many churches to devide it's membership over these errors. DONOT TRUST THIS BOOK!

The title gives readers high expectations and the book exceeds those expectations! Very well written in bite size chunks for daily reading. Good book for those who rarely read books.

At the time of this review I am still reading this book. But i can honestly say that it has already made a difference in my life. I am a Lutheran and my religion is very important to me. I know all the customs and beliefs, but i often find that i am simply going through the actions and not praising God. In my own life I am not leaning on my Lord and Savior in the way that I should. THis book is amazing at providing a new perspective into how to truly live a life for God. And submitting to his will, and using the gifts he has bestowed on us through his Holy Spirit. God's Blessings to all who read this. The Lord God Almighty is an amazing God in the love and mercy he shows us. Listen to his call and accept him as your Lord. And experience a close and intimate relationship with your Creator. He wants to know you, and wants you to know him. Praise God!

This should be the book that nobody should skip reading. If you think that there is no point in what you are doing, or you just have no idea of where you are going with your life, this book will give you the answer. I bought this book because I have the Spanish version and I wanted to share with those who speak English this great message as well. As a youth group coordinator I decided to get the teenagers on the group involved and we are reading this book as a group project, am sure that after the 40 days in which we read this book we all will have learned the meaning of our lives. Sure, in this book there is quite some Bible quotes, but this is not only for those who like religion, this is a MUST READ, regardless of your believes, it has no religion boundaries and is no trying to convince you to join anything. This is the best chance you have to get to know someone who has been with you all the time and maybe you don't know who it is... that person is YOURSELF!!! If you wish to really know who you are I can't stress this enough, READ THIS BOOK, it has changed tons of lives and it can help change yours as well.

Great book. I'll have to read it again to get all it has to offer. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for the real reason they were put on this earth.

you really need to read this book.. It gives you the road map to where god wants you to be. Give it a try.

I bought this book to give to our son. I have read this book twice and each time it gives me more insight and inspiration for the purpose of my life. Our son, like so many, has overextended himself, and has not turned to God for wisdom and strength in his decision making. The world has trapped him into thinking he has to have it all. As he has had to face the consequences of his choices, he has asked how to get right with God and turn from the world's way.
He has been open to reading the Bible and this has made him hunger and thirst for more of God. This book, Purpose Driven Life is practical and written so that everyone can learn and grow in the knowledge of God and His purpose for each of us. I recommend this book and it can be read every year or so, to renew and refresh as life seasons change.

IT IS A VERY PRACTICAL BOOK. EASY TO UNDERSTAND AND USEFUL IN YOUR EVERYDAY LIVING. I HAD DONE A SPECIAL STUDY AT MY CHURCH USING THE BOOK AND WANTED TO SHARE WITH OTHER PEOPLE.

I had already recieved a copy as a gift. I bought another copy for a friend. No matter how quickly or slowly you read and follow this book - it enhances ones life. Many new and varied insights into how to approach life and all it's challenges.

The book is excellent because it reveals to you the reason you were created and helps you to know God's plan for your life.

The problem with self-help books is that they can be powerful crutches in difficult times and make you feel good for a short while. These books ask you to apply the lessons they teach to your own life. The truth is that nobody, except you, really knows what is really important to 'you' and what would fulfill you as a person. No amount of listening to other people's or even 'God's truth' can take the place of thinking, and feeling, and listening to your own needs. If God gave you a heart, a mind and a soul, it only makes sense that He would expect you to use them. To live a purposeful life, you have to figure out what you need, and then do that. If you are unsure of yourself and need help, you can also find a good friend who listens to 'you'. But the most important thing is for you to listen to 'yourself' as much as you would listen to someone or something else. Neither this nor any other book, can ever be a substitute for really discovering who you are, and what you need in life.

This book is all about self. The Bible is about Jesus Christ. Rick needed to leave the Bible out of this book completely, of course it wouldn't be labeled a christian book, and sales wouldn't be good. He is just another apostate trying to make a fortune off of makeing people feel good about themselves. I wonder if Paul and Silas "felt good" in jail after they had recieved many stripes? They could still sing praises unto God. That's the power in John 1:12 that they had, it was nothing that they worked up. Christ is the only one who can give us life and life more abundantly, we can do nothing of ourselves, but beilieve his word, trust Him with our whole heart, it's Him that lives in us. This book is not of God

This book was delivered quickly and in a really good condition. It was exactly what was described and was a good buy. I spent not a lot of money and got an almost new book!

My daughter was reading the book and deceide to bought it at the mail one day.
I really like the book, I think anything that has Richard Warren name on it is worth buying. I bought two copys on e-bay for my best friend and a family member. I wish I would of bought my copy on e-bay, I would of paid half the price.
