  Nokia 2nd Only to Motorola

I have this Nokia and a Motorola Rizr Z3. This phone has a great battery life in my opinion the only downside is not being able to use your MP3's as the ringtone, but I have found a way around that. I have a program called Xingtones that I can make ringtones on my computer with and send them to the phone. Unlike the Motorola Rizr Z3 which you can use any MP3 as the ringtone. The thing I like best about the Nokia 6133 over the Z3 was that it will support WMA files where as the Motorola Z3 will only handle MP3 files. Overall a great phone. I still have to rate the Motorola Z3 as a better phone, but obviously two seperate category's. The Nokia 6133 definately puts the Motorola Razr to shame.

Like: It's lightweight; has great features; convenient button to open phone without pulling it open

Dislike: The camera button is where my thumb is when I hold the phone. If I hold the phone too tight, the camera comes on and I have to turn it off all the time to use the phone ... then move my thumb which makes it awkward to hold when speaking on the phone.

  Great Phone for the Price...
Review created: 03/05/07

I bought the phone a month before, and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive phone. It has a 1.3M-pixel camera, video camera, and speakerphone. The phone size is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 4 hours.

My daughter wanted this phone as is very happy with it. I tried to buy one at the cell store, but they wouldn't sell this phone without a plan. We have a plan through another cell service so all we wanted was this onlocked cell phone.

Great Phome but the battery doesn't hold

I just got the phone last week I like it is very easy to use. The one thing that bothers me the most is the battery life I need to charge it every night witch is very unusual for nokia's. The other thing that bother me a little is that camera batton on the side of the phone I do turn it on couple times a day but I can deal with it. Owerall great phome.

  using t-mobile great clarity

Reception
This is the biggest issue for me. I don't care about cameras or EDGE and radio and going online with my phone and all that other crap. I want my phone to work wherever I am, and this Nokia does fine.

Call clarity
This IS the clearest sounding Nokia I have ever owned. There is no background hissing, no popping noises, no crackling noises, no wavey noises. The person on the other end sounds very good, just not as deep and robust as the Pebl.

The ear piece volume is adequate too. At full volume people sound good with no distortion.

Battery
Yeah, we all know the deal. It's not that good.

Build and form factor
This phone is really much thinner than the pics make it look. It's very nice and slim and feels good in my hand. I liked the feel of the Pebl better though, that soft black feel was awesome.

The Pebl felt bulky and heavy, much like it's name "pebble." The Nokia is skinny and slender, and fits nicely in my pockets. It's very light too, one of the lightest phones I've ever owned.

Opening the phone feels solid, no creaking noises or strange sounds. However, when the phone is closed, I can move the top part from side to side just a little bit.

Once you open it
The screen is beautiful, no doubt. Everyone has already said this and I just have to confirm how awesome it looks. It really is the best screen I have ever seen.

The keypad is great too. I like having distinction between the numbers. The keys are nicely lit so you can see them in the dark very easily.

The signal meter only shows 4 possible bars. Call me crazy, but I like to see more bars. The 6230 and the 3220 showed 7 possible bars and I liked that better.

The 'push to open' button on the side of the phone is very handy. It feels very solid, when I push it an audible click is heard. The side buttons are nice and flush too.

  Nokia 6133 (T-Mobile)

It's awesome how there's two screens and the GUI is great, but there could have been some improvements. For a 1.3 MP camera, the picture quality sure does suck. The supplied headset is ok for music, but terrible to talk on. It's clumsy design makes me dread the day i might need to use it for an actual conversation. The easy flip open button is in a clumsy spot as well. Good ideas, but poor execution. There's nothing really special about this phone. BUT if you must have a Nokia, and it must be a flip...get this one.

Great features poor battery life. The features are easy to scroll, screen is cristal clear, and the radio on the phones is great also, the negative is you can not use your mp3 songs as ring tones. The battery life is not in par with any other phones stanby is only like 2.5 day long not anything like the manual say it is. If nokia could fix the battery like this would be one of the best cell phones in the market.

  Someone Finally Got It Right
Review created: 01/17/07(updated 07/22/08)

This phone has the largest keys and control buttons I've ever used on a phone. It's so easy to navigate and make a call without having to use the tip of your finger or fingernail just to press the right button. It is very light and slim, lacking that brick-type feel that most of Nokia's earlier flip phones had. Another great thing about it is the Fm Radio. I ordered it from T-Mobile and it came with a two- earbud headset with volume control. The sound that it produces is mind-blowing. It's like hearing a megawatt stereo. I noticed that some of the Ebay sellers list this headset as optional probably because they removed it to sell in a separate auction. I would suggest finding a seller that hasn't removed it or emailing them to demand that they place it back in the box if your buying it new. Unless your planning on spending five to eight hundred dollars on one of the N-series phones, of which, some don't even have the Fm radio. then I would highly suggest getting this one.

Of the T-Mobile Phones I have owned and used that belonged to other people, this one is probably the best I have encountered. It is just a great phone. It has easy to see screens, a user friendly interface, and very good sound quality and volume control.

The only two drawbacks I have found to date (almost 3 months) is that the voice over command function is a little difficult to figure out initally, but once you know how to use it, it is quite easy to use actually, so not really a drawback. And, the other problem is that the camera button being on the side means that I am accidentally turning the camera on at least three times a day, but it is easy enough to shut off.

The MP3 Player is great. It also plays WMA (Windows Media Audio) files. If you use those, then you can also use the files as ringtones, although the display is different on the player. MP3 files cannot be used as ringtones, but the WMA conversion is a nice way around that.

I also wish that it had more than 9 speed dial spots like most motorola phones do. Although I also own the Razr V3t (a very comparable phone) but I like this one just a bit better.
