I've received the PSP that came on the day it was received. It has not been on since that day. It came with no return address. I've shopped on line with ebay several times before but, I have never been so disappointed. I bought it online for my son because I couldn't afford to purchase a new on in the stores. It states that is looked and was in good condition like new but it had a few scratches on the front. I could deal with that if it had worked. My son was truly disappointed because by the time I could afford a game the PSP no longer worked. I'm a single parent out of $100.00 but what can I say...Never buy used electronics with EBAY again. No offense to EBAY but I don't have that kind of money to throw away. I could have just waited bought a new one and if it didn't work it could have been taken back to the store.


Frustrated Mom and Disappointed Child,

I am getting a great value from purchasing a PSP on Ebay. A brand new unit costs $170. I purchased a like new unit, plus 5 movies and 5 games and a speaker system with carrying case for about $250. Since then I have upgraded to a 4 Gig memory chip, downgraded the firmware to unlock all homebrew and gaming possibilities and am able to watch ANY movie I want, play hundreds of fantastic games, listen to hundreds of MP3's, browse any pictures I want and access the Internet from my home wireless router - all in a pocket sized portable unit! I'd say I got my money's worth and more. I'd recommend this unit over the Nintendo DS or any other handheld because of the quality of the picture and the amount of customized programs (homebrew) that is available. The cons of this system are simple: Lack of good text entry makes browsing the Internet a chore (kinda like entering text on a cell phone). A touch screen would be nice or an easy way to hook up a keyboard would be nice. The only other con is that Sony is constantly trying to keep control of the device and NOT allow people to run homebrew apps by trying to plug every hole via firmware updates. If they would only realize that the possibilities of the PSP are only there BECAUSE of the extensive online community that unlocks Sony's copywrite protection and make great apps and games possible. That is why this handheld is so great! The only other PSP con was Sony's decision to use UMD (Universal Media Disc) as a format for games and movies. This proprietary format will soon be dead thanks to the inability to make your OWN UMD's. You cannot buy a UMD burner so you are stuck with Sony's UMD's for movies and games - and the movies are mostly dead already (Target and Wal-Mart are not caryying them). I'm not sure that brand new movies will be released anymore as UMD's. But as long as I can convert MY movies that I download to Sony's format I'll be just as happy. As long as Sony doesn't find a way to completely lock the PSP to only their proprietary media this handheld will remain the top in it's class for a handheld multimedia/gaming/PDA type device.

Great product, Great condition and works perfectly. Its a 2.82 though if u want to homebrew it u must find Gta:LCS unpatched.

Really love about the PSP first was the large screen, clarity of the pictures on games and movies. The main menu is really cool, you could customized your own background, view pictures, listen to music and also watch movies. You could purchase a bigger memory for it so you could store more media on it. I really recommend this unit, it's really fun to have it.

My son love's his PSP, the seller that we purchased our PSP from sold it in great condition, it was more reasonable than purchasing a brand new one and we received much more than what we would have if we brought it brand new.

Well, first off, I bought it because I knew it could be hacked. When I received it the first thing I did was try and hack it. Unfortunately, the person had already put firmware 2.81 on it; the firmware that ensures you need GTA:LCS in order to hack it. Well, I searched around and bought 2 copies of the game in 2 days. Both were the correct copy, but I decided to sell one on ebay. =p

After hacking the firmware...I use it a lot. I play FF7, I watch movies in 480x272 resolution (all the time), I read PDF files, etc. One big advantage over the hacked version is the ability to turn the processor speed down. This allows for watching movies or listening to music without taking up as much battery.

Oh yeah, the battery. I've heard it doesn't last that long, well, let me tell you my experience. If you want to watch a movie, turn down the processor speed, turn down the brightness to 2/4 and you'll get a good 6-8 hours of battery life for watching movies, maybe more. I've never personally let my battery die, so I can't tell you. But after watching 4hours+ of movies, I still had around 40% battery. And this is with the stock battery.

When it comes to watching movies, this is my only gripe. As an avid movie-watcher, it is a little annoying how slow the refresh rate of the screen is. If you are watching a movie that isn't moving too much, you're golden, but if you want to watch an action packed movie? I'd be a little weary. Movement on the screen isn't displayed very well because of the poor refresh rates, but other than that, I think it's pretty good for watching movies.

Overall, it's a great little machine, occasionally I use it for web browsing even, but this is only if it's a must and I can't access a real computer, which isn't often. It's very versatile and fun to use.

I liked that it was in very nice condition, and cost was reasonable and it arrived in a timely manner.

i bought the sony psp for my 11 yr old son....i like it too...i play with it as much as he does...the entire experience was great,,,from finding the sony psp to purchasing,to recving....

I love the fact that I could purchase a gently used one for such a great price. My son was just thrilled when he opened it on his birthday. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it didn't come with the instruction manual, but found out through a friend that I could download one right from the Sony website onto my computer for free. So that really wasn't a problem after all. The sale was terrific all the way through from beginning to end!! I love ebay and would purchase from ebay before going to the stores anytime. It is such a money saver and I was able to afford something for my son that I thought I never could have brand new, and who knows the difference? My son and I are just thrilled with the whole process. Thank you Ebay!

Just what I was looking for and wanted! :) I got the microphone and talkman disks for it, which acts as a translation guide in a lot of different languages. :)

I bought this item for a friend of mine. She wanted to give it to her nephew for his birthday. The psp is the all time game out and has realistic effects. The screen is clear and the games look awesome on them. Also you can do more than play games, you can listen to music and watch movies. you have everything all in one. No need to have to dig thru your bag for a thousand and one objects.

I'm a rubyk's collector, ever since I found out that I can get any of them on ebay, I can stop shopping.

The PSP is the best hand held system you can donload movies, music, photos and more. The PSP is like a game system, computer, MP3 player, camera and a TV in one. So if you are looking for a game system this is the one.

GREAT GRAPHICS AND GREAT FOR TRAVEL AND JUS GREAT ALL AROUND, SMALL FOR EASY STORAGE AND IT IS A GREAT GIFT.

I like the fact that the system is small and portable. The graphics are great and I can watch movies, surf the net, and play games all in one unit. It is much smaller the a laptop and I actually bought it for my son. I was not going to buy a laptop that can do all those things for a small child or even spend that kind of money. The system is outstanding and I am glad I bought it through ebay at a lesser price than on the market.

Product was damaged when received. button missing and all scratched. Not at described. Can't review product. Haven't received refund still waiting 19 days.
Won't be purchasing anything on EBAY again. Used EBAY for several years, but not in the future because of this bad experience.

The good: The Sony PSP is a slick portable gaming system highlighted by an impressive wide-screen display and PS2-like graphics. It also boasts built-in Wi-Fi, a Web browser, and the ability to play music and videos, as well as to store images.

The bad: The Sony PSP's multimedia functionality is underwhelming, especially for video, requiring expensive memory cards. The load times on the UMD games can be excessive.

The bottom line: The Sony PSP elevates portable gaming to the next level, but its multimedia functionality falls short of its full potential.

I love the Sony PSP, for the abundant amount of uses. I use it to transfer all my dvd movies to memory stick and watch the movies at work.

I bought the PSP Game Console for my teenage son. I was impressed with the quality of the picture of the games and movies the PSP plays. The sound quality was equally as good. My son is able to download his favorite songs onto the PSP. The PSP is compact enough to take anywhere. I love the fact that you can play games, watch movies and listen to music with just one system. This is an excellent buy, especially if you have children.

This was a gift for my daughter for X-Mas & I checked it out before giving it to her & everything worked just fine. There was nothing I disliked about it.

This is a really great portable game console system. This is a must have for the ones who are addicted to the playstation 2 and 3. This can go with you anywhere and it is pretty compact and very sleek can fit in a purse or you can buy a case to put it in, and I recommend a case over a purse to many things in a purse to scratch and ding it up. This thing has awesome graphics & sound, and it even plays music. This uses a memory stick to save your games on. Also has a rechargeable batteries, and the charger comes with it. Has a LCD wide screen. Awesome 3D Graphics, and sound. This is a Portable Playstation that you can take on the go great for long trip, and to take on vacations. I truly recomend this for all playstation lovers it is truly just awesome you won't go wrong getting this for yourself or for a gift for a playstation lover. I would recommend buy a PSP starter kit so you will have a case for it, and a car charger for on the go trips. This you will find is money well sent here. This is diffenitly a 5 Star rating out of 5

Its an ok system the graphics aren't as good as ps2 but i guess its ok for music, videos, and internet. some games are fun

For the past 10 years Sony has been the leader in everything "gaming" and in 2005 they launched the Sony PSP. This little gaming device is amazing the screen is crystal clear, you have a gaming console which can play games, umd movies, mp3 music and jpeg photos as well as being able to surf the internet

The minor flaws with the PSP are that the battery can only last around 5 hours from a full charge. This is not much of a problem as you can simply plug the console in a power source and get straight back into the game. The device is very easy to use. If buying for a child I'd highly reccomend watching them when using the device because it can do many things not appropriate for all ages.

The great thing about the PSP is the ability to play "homebrew" games and emulators, this basically means you can play gameboy games, megadrive games, snes games, neo geo games, etc on the PSP.

If you are a new buyer of the sony PSP id advise you not to buy any UMD movies they are expensive and you can only play them on your psp! Id advise you to learn how to convert on your pc to PSP and get movies from friends or the internet pay sites. The mp3 player on the PSP is a little dissapointing, it just has your basic play, pause, rewind, slow forward etc buttons. There is no flash graphic demos or anything fancy to look at, but dont worry you can download much better mp3 players for PSP on the internet.

The games are good, some are not so good as you would expect from a new console. Games to go for are: Metal gear Ac!d (If you like the series tactical game very fun), Lumines (like teris but better!) Ape academy (Girls will go for this but dont be put off its very fun and is full of mini games, great to play on the bus, train etc!) Pro Evo 5 (great footy game), Wipeout pure (great graphics good game for all) Ride Racers (same as last one), Burnout legends (brilliant for you speed and crash freak my faviourite psp game behind MGA!)

The psp fits nice in the hands of an adult, I'd mainly say its aimed at the 20 something male market so thumps up there for the feel of the console! The PSP seems to be quite heavy when you first pick one up, it must weight half a brick lol but this makes you want to hold it more securely. You dont want to drop your psp, the weight and shape would probably end up in a certain deth of the console if dropped! Use the handy wrist band that comes in the pack!

When you buy I reccomend you buy the following:

A larger memory stick 512mb at least! 1gig or 2gig if you can afford it.
PSP protective case, dont cost much but save's your psp from getting scratched!
A PSP umd game, the demo umd has no playable games, sadly.
Insurance is also a must since they become easily stolen.
