Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006, DVD)

I was able to buy this brand new, unopened and sealed DVD from a seller with 100% feedback at a much lower price than if I had bought it at Walmart. Even with shipping, it was still cheaper.

I bought it because I had not seen the movie and the price was good. I love Johnny Depp and I think the movie is a very good one, as most of Mr. Depp's movies. I recommend it to anybody who has not seen it yet.

If you like fun movies, a touch (just a touch) scary, funny, campy, odd characters, pirates, good guys, bad guys, and some that don't fit either category - this is definitely the movie for you! It is almost impossible to take seriously, but you are still pulled into the movie enough to totally block out your 'real' surrounding while the movie is running. There are some goofs, and if you are the type to look for them, you'll have a blast finding them. But watch it through first just for the fun. You can go back later to pick it apart for the minor bits. It IS a lot of fun, and you can spend an afternoon or evening just letting go and taking a short vacation. This is an excellent sequel, and they've left it WIDE OPEN for a third film. I wonder when.... Hmmmmm. Just get this one and enjoy!

Price, ability to shop at home, home delivery. Just wish I had waited for full screen format.Lots of choices and sellers to choose from.

This Is my favorite Movie , With All My Favorite Actors , We Loved the Firs Pirates Of the Caribben And Cant wait for the Third Edition To Come Out , Thanxs For All The Fun Action , Captan Jack.

It didn't *rock* like the first one but then it seemed to be somewhat dependent on the first one's "steam" (classic "sequel syndrome"). Johnny walked through his role and the only exciting Johnny parts were the chemistry he had with Keira. Hot, hot, hot, those little zzzzt sparks that would occur here and there. The special effects were fantastic and even a jaded ol' movie viewer like me who'se like seen it all, was impressed. The movie *overall* was fun and a no-miss.

I don't know the movie personally. I don't really care for Pirate movies myself but I purchased it for a friend.

I bought this movie because my kids really liked it and so did i.My kids liked it because it had alot of good music,the actors were great.I hope if there will be a third part i will buy it for me and my kids.

I been to Disney World after the movie came out. Changing the ride tells you what Disney thinks. The bad part was I had a long wait to get into this old ride. My last four visit I just walk in and get on the ride. That tells you how the picture came over. For once I going to hate fish, just the thought that the big monster eats boats is enought for the little kids to drive under their seats. It was long and drag out in parts. But a fun picture. It not the whole picture at the end you are force to wait for the third movie to come out, Same with Lord of he Ring. You know you can't watch for it.

you cant find a better family movie for all to love. from begining to end it keeps you going! great for movie night.

My boyfriend just LOVED Johnny Depp as Capt Jack Sparrow in the 1st movie, but I was 'alright' with it, so when the 2nd movie came out, I thought I'd surprise my boyfrien and get it for him. He was thrilled, and so was I! This (2nd) movie was WAY, WAY better than the 1st one, to me. Great visual affects! It's the kind of movie you'd like to see again!

I totally loved both this movie and the first one. The begining is a little strange but then it is really good. It is exciting, funny and a little weird at times. But the ending leaves you hanging thinking hey...wait a minute..where's the rest?

I think this one was better than the first overall. But i hate when they end a movie in mid heart beat. They may as well put to be continued at the bottom of the screen. Its a movie not a TV series. I dont go for that kinda thing. Love the plot and story line but the idea of the story continuing and not have any real closure is very dissappointing

The dvd was awful, it wouldn't play in my machine, and I almost believe it may have been a pirate copy. I wrote the seller and got an immediate response and refund. I returned the dvd and have not purchased another one yet. I had seen the moive in the theater and enjoyed it.

When we get together as a family and want to watch a GREAT movie, we watch Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead man's chest. Like the first Pirate movie, there are parts of this movie that come to light the more you watch the movie. Yo-Ho-Ho and a great flick too!
The cast is wonderful, the special FX are so realistic, and the story is very well told. Entertainment at it's finest.

I loved the 1st DVD so I thought I'd get this one turns out it was a very good choice Koodo's to Johnny Depp a very good sequel

I wanted an action flick for my 60" tv and found a no brainer in this movie. Just eye candy, no real story to sink one's teeth into. Fun to watch however.

I enjoyed the first movie and thought that the second would be just as enjoyable. I ordered the DVD and waited but I never received it. I tried to reach the seller with no response and before I could get an answer everything regarding the sale was deleted. The DVD is paid for and I would like to get the DVD so if someone could help me I sure would appreciate it. I know this is not the way to do it but what choice do I have. Thank You, Elverna Lawrence

When Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) learns his blood debt to the infamous pirate of the ocean Davy Jones (a wonderful Bill Nighy, somewhere under heavy CGI) is being called in, he looks to duck his promise and find a way to break the oath. Also trying to track Jack down is his old partner Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), who must locate Jack's magical compass to help free his bride-to-be, Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), from prison. As Jones and his evil aquatic minion hunt the waters searching for their prize, Will finds his father Bootstrap Bill (Stellan Skarsgard) is in dire straights; Elizabeth meets her pirate destiny; James Norrington (Jack Davenport) thirsts for revenge; and Jack quests for a special chest that contains his only chance for freedom.
The success of 2003's "Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl" was found in its gonzo Saturday matinee appeal. Determined to keep itself as frothy as possible and as thrilling as summer entertainment allows, "Black Pearl" was an enormous, and unexpected, sensation at the box office. More importantly, it made audiences slap-happy again with the idea of seeing pirates onscreen.

"Dead Man's Chest" is the hotly anticipated second installment (a third, "World's End," is due next May), and it gives the audience what it wants, but this time the attitude feels deflated, and the end product lacks a good sense of rum-drunk playfulness.

"Black Pearl" had a stealth appeal to it that was irresistible: audiences weren't expecting quality from a movie based on a theme park ride, they didn't believe a pirate movie could be so richly pleasurable, and nobody had seen Johnny Depp take such a mainstream acting risk before. That sparkling element of surprise helped the film hurdle some serious comedy problems and third act pacing issues. "Chest" launches itself under intense expectations, and you can sense the production is now wary of taking on any new gambles with this enormously budgeted sequel.

Director Gore Verbinsky is more than happy to dish out additional Jack Sparrow escapades, and for the most part, this is a slick motion picture. Using his bottomless buckets of money to dream up sophisticated action set pieces for his characters to tumble around in, "Chest" is spectacular when the adventure goes huge. For instance, not only do Jack, Will, and Norrington finally have their much-anticipated battle of wits and steel, they just happen to be clashing on top of a gigantic rolling water wheel, scrambling to keep their balance as they truck down a jungle mountainside. Also great fun is the Kraken: Davy Jones's monster squid-like "pet" that inhales entire ships in one gulp on command. Verbinski devotes nearly 30 minutes to fighting this beast, but it's worth the excessive screen time; it's an astounding sea creature special effect and the film's one viable threat (out of far too many) to our heroes.
