Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006, DVD)

This is a fabulous movie...It builds on the prior "Pirates" movies and develops the characters more...The idea of a real Davy Jones is wonderful...I enjoyed all the special effects...The cliffhanger is interesting...What will happen next?

Its Just That Good Its A Loss Of Words there is just some much good stuff about it that you cant name it all in this many words the fighting and the comedy just make for one great action packed movie that is clean enough for children to watch

Okay, the movie wasn't bad, but after the greatness of the first one, I guess I expected more.
Pros: Very similar to the first Pirates. Terrific acting and cast. Humorous and action packed. Johnny Depp plays his character as if this is really his life. Terrific!
Cons: Very much like the first one... There is not much difference from the first one. I see people arguing over things that happened and not remembering if it was the first Pirates or the sequel in which the events happened. I'm not a big fan of movies that don't have an ending. This one doesn't end. It leads up to whatever is going to come out next.

I saw the movie in the theater and my family enjoyed the movie and I have the fist of the series and wanted the second one. I did not like this movie as well as the first one. I realize this is just a fun movie but I did not like the sea creatures. They seemed dumb for lack of a better word. It seemed like they wanted to put something in the movie like the skeletons in the first movie but came up short on the effect. Other than that the movie was fine.

The first one was good. This sequel is rubbish! Forget it. I fell asleep. Kid stuff with no story!.....................

I purchased this DVD because I had seen the first one and really liked it, so I bought it. The seller was great. The DVD arrived very quickly in great condition. He really enjoyed it.

I have wanted to own the dvd, that is why i bought it.

This DVD made a great valentines gift. The price was Excellent. The shipping was very quick also. DVD was brand new and still wrapped.

I bought this movie on eBay because I really liked the first part of the Pirates of the Caribbean. I have a 5-year-old son and he liked the first part too, although there are some parts in the Curse of the Black Pearl (approximately 10 minutes) that we always skip, because it is not suitable for smaller children (cursed pirates part).

The second part, Dead Man's Chest was not what I had expected it to be. It is an interesting movie, but not so original as the first part. Many jokes and situations resemble to the first part. My other (big) problem was that it was really scary for kids, we watched it once and then I decided it was not for my 5-year-old son. I was a bit surprised to see something like that from a Disney production.

Finally, I would like to mention that the actors were really great, especially Johnny Depp, he is as fantastic as always. All in all, it is an impressive production, with great acting and computer animation, but it lacks that touch of originality that is present in the first part, and the horroristic parts do not make up for it.

It was better than the first one!!Worth seeing/buying. I purchased this movie and I will be watching it several times. I would highly recommend it.

WONDERFUL sequel to the first POTC!!! Johnny Depp does an EXCELLENT job acting (as usual)!!! A must-have for anyone who loved the first one!!!

great movie and i love the movies that johnny depp plays in he is always a great actor.really great movie to watch with the whole family. alot of action in this movie you never no whats going to happened next time.

WOW, I was blown-away by how good the CGI was in this movie. The storyline is great and characters very entertaining. Loved it!

This exceded my expectations, which is saying alot. Johnny Depp was funnier in this one, if possible, and Orlando Bloom hotter!

Movie wasn't as likeable as the first, but still an "attention catcher." Love the original cast, and as usual, they all performed very well. Johnny Depp holds the humor and fun, and is a joy to watch. I do believe he captures the movie in all, not to say that the other characters don't, but for some reason I hold him the highest in wit, skill, presenting himself in the part and being the hero. The special effects are good, however, my heart still goes out to the first movie.

We hurried to buy it because it was advertised and hyped up.We both fell asleep while watching it.Haven't done that since the movie Popeye came out.Just wasn't what we expected.Gave it to the grandkids to take home and they only watched part of it before stopping it and going out to play.

This movie a sequal to the prior one is considered by many to be far better and it probably is. However the reason I only rated it as good is not that the movie is not excellent, but the ending is none existant. This is one of those movies that doesn't really fulfill the time you spend watching it. It leaves it open until the next movie comes out. It is like one of the old Superman series.
To me the movie can not be rated alone, nor watched as a single movie. You need to have the next movie to really rate the entire story line. I was very disapointed in the ending, or nonending.

I enjoyed it begining to end so much I wanted to have it so I could watch it whenever I wanted. I have five favorite movies and sequels and this is one.

What can you say when a sequel is better even than the first film and the first film was incredible? Yippeee!

You will want this in your collection if you are a Depp or a Pirates fan. It's a watch again and again.

WHEN I SEEN THE FIRST PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN I THOUGH IT WAS MORE ABOUT TURNER AND THE PRINCESS BUT JOHNNY DEPP DEFINATLY STOLE THE SPOT LIGHT AND GAVE AN AMAZING PERFORMANCE. KUDOS TO CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW.

A fun romp!The sequel to the " Curse of the Black Pearl " is an entertaining film and I'm looking forward to the third installment. I bought it for my husbands birthday. If you don't take the movie too seriously you'll have a great time.
