Nokia 6102 (AT&T)

I do not feel strongly one way or the other. It works.. I'm using it right now to post this review...

The reason I gave it 5 stars is that, in terms of doing the primary functions of a cell phone, i.e., making and receiving calls, it is SUPERB.


This phone is sleek, light weight, compact, and stylish looking (in my opinion). I love that is has an external screen too. You can have a differernt wallpaper on the external screen then you have on the internal one.... which is cool if you care about pictures and things like that :o)

I like how it tells the Day of the week AND the date on the external screen. I am absent minded about dates so this helps me! Plus it also displays the caller ID on the external screen so you can see who is calling and their picture (if you programed it) without even opening the phone.


The alarm clock on the phone is great because it beeps 6 quieter beeps before becoming a loud alarm signal. This is really nice if you do not like being startled awake every morning by an alarm. I was able to open to the phone and push the alarm off button in the 15 seconds I had before the alarm progressed to the louder sound.


PROS:

CONS:
---Poor camera quality
---Although it looks stylish, the exterior casing is cheap and has that plastic feel to it
---Not enough memory! Only 32-64K depending on when you got it
---Scratches easily
---Takes slightly longer than most phones to power on and off


Also, for those who complain about low volume through the earpiece:
try setting the Automatic Volume Control to 'on'. With this option set, the earpiece volume is louder.

I have had this phone for a year now,the one i have in my possession is a replacement for another 6102. 1st one returned becuase it started loosing the antenna part too it and it would not stay on.. Now this one is doing the same thing.
Now the side volume control is'nt working either, and I dont like the fact that there is only one free game on this.Other than that all is good,reception,style,and ease of use...

Pros: Lots of cool features, supports MP3, screen was bright, and easy to read, battery lasts a while, phone looks really nice, vibration is almost silent, phone charges pretty fast, phone is very customizable

Cons: the phone sounds fragile when texting and dialing

overall i give this phone an A-

Phone is great, my girlfriend has one and I liked hers and my other phone had bad battery life so I decided to get one like hers because hers lasts forever! Neither of us have had any problems with either of the phone hers brand new from cingular and mine used. Camera takes way better pics than motorola! Would highly recomend this phone to anyone who wants a phone with long battery life!

The Nokia 6102 is a great phone for the non tech-savvy phone user. It comes with a built in camera for pictures and video recording, and also a voice recorder. The disadvantage of it is that it only can hold 2MB of memory which can be used up very easily. I recommend the phone for a person who wants a phone for its basic usage, but with some added flare. I bought this phone when I got my contract because it is easy to handle the costs. Now I moved on to a more sophisticated phone to fit my personal needs, but still enjoy the phone for when I had it.

It has been over a month since I bought my phone from roxyizdumber and I still haven't gotten my phone. I'm sure Nokia makes nice phones, and I sure would like to have the one that I ordered.

I bought this phone for my Daughter as early Birthday gift in 02/06. Cingular is a service provider, and to put it this phone as been through prue hell excuse my language but that is the only way I know how to put it but anyway it has been dropped to many times I can't even count but the screen is cracked but that is to be excepted but anyway this phone is still kickin' and just like it was the day I bought it for her. I say this is one great phone that can take a beating, and keep on ticking' :). It also is a nice looking phone with some nice features. You can also record music, and make you your own ring tones which my daughter does so you don't have to pay for ring tones because I have my daughter blocked from being able to download anything onto her phone that keeps my cell phone bill down if you know what I mean. This also has a nice camera on it that take nice pictures, and you can take short video's. Keeps a good signal pretty much everywhere. If your looking for a good phone especially a kid this is the one for you. I think my money was well spent on this phone. This get 5 out of 5 rating from me.

I like to shop around before buying anything so I did and found this one to offer the most attachments at the lowest price, of course I love it, its just what I wanted. It came on time except the sender forgot to put the charger in the box. He felt so bad that I had to feel sorry for him, but mistakes happen and it didn;t bother me any. The end!

Overall, this phone is a very, very good phone for the price (free).

-The phone has infrared so I can send pictures to and from my computer

-It has great reception and I never drop a call

-Ringer volume is pretty good

-Interface is generally easy to navigate

-EXCELLENT BATTERY LIFE!!!! (can last up to 2 weeks for me)

~*Cons*~

-The phone is really flimsy, it doesn't have the same hinge style as the samsungs so it can flex pretty far back

-The phone isn't up to par with other phones durability wise (It is too shiny so putting it in your pocket makes a mess of scratches...but not a prob if you have a case)

-The ring tones are annoying (Juice being poured, a baby cracking up...who would use those)

-The camera has NO ZOOM so when I take a picture of someone/something I have to be a few inches away from the object

-The screen is pretty crappy...it is faded and not at all vibrant. The samsungs have a well blended bright screen, this is the exact opposite.

-Friends of mine who have the phone complain that the outer display cracks too easily

-The picture editer lets you edit the picture contrast but you can save it, its just for viewing purposes

If you are looking for a cheap phone that has the basics with a little convenient extras, you really can't go wrong with this phone. If you are having a problem with the phone, call 6-1-1 and ask to be transfered to the Nokia tech because at cingular, they know nothing. The charger is also prone to break easily. Not bad but not great. If you are willing to spend $20 extra, samsung is the ultimate best phone out there.

I really like the features and dependability of this phone. It's easy to use and navigate the features without having to be a cell phone guru. To me, the bluetooth feature is now a must have. I will never go back to any phone that you have to hold to talk again.
I know other people that have phones with similar features but the quality just isn't there. ( You know the ones that I'm referring to.)
I actually already had one of these phones and then talked one of my friends into letting me get one for them on ebay. They're really pleased with it.

I bought this phone with a new 2yr plan from Cingular wireless in NYC. If you want a basic, hard working, good looking phone than give this phone a good look. The Nokia 6102i from Cingular is a GSM phone and it uses a SIM card.
I has all the basic cellphone goodies such as calendar, calc, SMS, camera, and the usual rest.
The only thing I'd watch out for is that the antenna part of the phone can disconnect from the phone if knocked or dropped as it did with mine. And the front glossy part gets scratched easily.
Battery life was great! I averaged 4 days of moderate use with both phone and SMS before it needed a recharge.

I had the Nokia 6102. I wanted to get a bluetooth and found that my Nokia 6102 was not bluetooth capable. So, I purchased this phone to use the bluetooth. I really like the phone to begin with, I just wanted the added feature.

I Like the phone it's easy to use looks nice takes ok pictures, I wish it had other options like the I model. I already had this phone which I broke, I decided to buy it again.

Order was delivered in a timely manner. Phone had more features than I thought, and it was also in a good condition, therefore leaving me a well satisfied customer. Thank you.

Pros: Good battery life, nice color screens, camera, speakerphone, light and small, loud ringtones, easy to use, durable.

Cons: Can only attach photos to contact IMMEDIATLY AFTER the picture was taken, cant attach different ringtones to different contacts.

Overall its a great phone, nokia did an excellent job. It may have some small flaws about customising your contact list( ringtones and pics) but its nothing really important... the phone's performance is undisputable, cant go wrong with the Nokia 6102!

My likes: long battery life, design and function of the menus, takes good pics for a phone, speakerphone, overall ease of use

My dislikes: Originally bought this phone on ebay last Christmas. It lasted for a few months then the screen quit working. Cingular honored the warranty and replaced it. Now several months later I'm lucky to get one bar signal and the cap to the antenna has come loose. The phone is plasticy and I'm surprised it's as durable as it's been. I also wish it had more memory or a memory card. I wouldn't pay what I paid for this phone if I had to do it again but I see that they are cheaper now so it's not a bad phone overall for the money.

I like Nokia's brand phone, because: excelent quality, friendly menu, and battery have a looong life. I decide to buy because the price it was very good, the shape it's real nice. for me it was a god deal. I'm satisfied with my choice.

Our family of three all carry Nokia 6102's, so when my daughter's slipped out of her jacket and into its final resting place in the Pacific Ocean we are disapponted. We have had our phones for almost a year and have appreciated the reliability of the Nokia 6102. The specific features that we enjoy are the speaker phone capability (which provides adequate volume and pick-up to let us keep our hands on the wheel and not on the phone) and the handy camera, which has allowed us to take a memorable shot when our digital camera is not in our pocket.

But the bottom line on our puchase of the Nokia 6102 on ebay was cost. After visiting Cingular we would have had to pay anywhere between $120 to $240 to replace the phone, not to mention the fact that we would have had to renew our contract for another 1-2 years.

The Nokia 6102 that we purchased from ebay was in excellent condition and matched the description the seller provided. Our family is once again equipped with our Nokia 6102's and are doing well.

I needed a phone with Blue tooth abilities and this phone answered the call. The blue tooth ability to this phone is easy to setup and connects without issues. The rest of the abilities of this phone the camera takes great pictures i can send to all that i want to. Lets just say you can not go wrong with this phone IMO

the phone is nice a bit bigger then my last
bluetooth is ok -my nokia drops down to one bar of Antenna- hopefully its just mine. the Radio will only work with the wired head set ONLY.
the email that you can get is spot on, great for those important messages.

I BOUGHT THIS NOKIA 6102 FOR MY WIFE AND SHE REALLY LIKES IT. VERY LIGHT WIEGHT, LONG BATTERY LIFE, GOOD GRAPHICS AND GOOD SOUND. AND IF YOU NEED TO TAKE A QUICK PICTURE, YOU CAN.
