I heard Whoopie Goldberg talking about this book on the view and then another guest came on and said that she was reading it so I knew it must be good. That is an understatement. I have not been able to put it down. I have already ordered the second one and can't wait to start reading it. The best book I have ever read. I don't know why they say it is for teeangers. I'm 54 and LOVE it. Now I see why it was on the New York Times Bestseller list.

  Twilight - an AMAZING story

I needed to read something that captured my interest right off the bad and that is exactly what Twilight did. I started reading it and couldn't put it down!

The characters are developed really well and the story touches the heart.

I couldn't have asked for anything better to read! (I finished the 600ish page book in 12 hours)

  Twilight is excellent!

I had heard about this book for over a year, but kept forgetting the title and who wrote it. I just kept hearing about the "vampire series". It didn't interest me right off because vampires just aren't "my type" of subject. But, I took a chance and bought the book and loved it. I've since bought the other two and pre-ordered the final. This is a great series. Well written and very intriging!

Don't judge a book by it's cover, I learned my lesson
Review created: 02/07/08

I wanted to badly to hate this book, and actually bought it to try to prove myself right. I saw it at Wal Mart week after week and knew nothing about it or the seires it belonged to. I saw an interview with Stephenie Meyer and only heard bits and pieces, basically enough to learn that this was a book about vampirs and ended up even more turned off by the series. I bought the book, expecting, and hoping to hate it, and after finishing the book in one sitting I couldn't get enough. This book is excellent. I'm not a lover of romance books, or typically anything that deals with fictional characters such as vampires, warewolves, aleins....., but this book proved me wrong in so many ways. Now I'm having trouble trying to find a book that even slightly compares to the brilliance of this one. I'm also counting down the days until Aug 2 when the fourth book in this series finally comes out.

I'd borrowed a friend's copy and had to have my own. The story takes you far beyond any book I've ever read and I couldn't put it down until I had finished it, an then read it again. I love Edward!

A bit much to be considered "young reader"
Review created: 01/10/08

This book was under the "young readers" section in my local BAM, so I wasn't so sure about it, but at the urging of a friend I picked it up. I have to admit that parts of this book bored me to death. The parts that were good, were REALLY good, and that's the main reason I kept reading it. And since I never leave things unfinished I also bought the other 2 in the series. The action was okay, but I could have definitely gone for some more. And I would like to have seen (read) more interaction between Bella and Edward. Overall, good stuff.

  THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The book Twilight, by Stephanie Meyer, starts when Bella, a 17 year old girl, moves to the town of Forks to live with her father, Charlie. At school she meets this extraordinary guy who she learns is Edward Cullen. He attempts to try and stay away from her, but eventually she is too hard to resist so they start hanging out at school. The times when Edward is not in school and Bella ponders for his presence, she hangs out with her friend Jessica, who she met on her first day of school there. While they hang out, the curious creature that she is, Bella begins asking questions about who he is. The more questions she asks, the more answers he gives her, and the more dangerous she is when she knows who Edward and his family are. Pretty soon she finds out that he and his family are vampires. During their time alone when they hang out, Edward takes Bella to a place through the forest where, when the sun shines, he is bright and shiny like diamonds. I would recommend this book for anyone who enjoys books with a mystery involved, and a romance.

From the moment that I picked up the book I was immediately hooked!! The story line is original & you just can't help but fall head over heals in love with Edward<333 You sink yourself into the book so much that you can picture yourself as Bella. I strongly recommend for everyone to read this book @ least once in your life or else you're missingout BIG time. It's absolutely breath taking & it makes your heart skip a beat with every page being turned.

WARNING: While & after you read Twilight, you'll experience a withdrawal from reality. You'll be thinking about Twilight & Edward 24/7 ;]

  Great Teen Vampire Romance!
Review created: 10/21/07

I really enjoyed this book, but then I am a huge fan of Vampire romance. This is my first time to read Stephanie Meyer, I usually stick to Christine Feehan for Vamp romance. I would say if you were skeptical on vamp romance, start reading this book first and you'll be changed!! I decided to give "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer a try since the review's were great! Here are my LIKES: Book keeps you guessing, made me feel like a young girl in love again, and nothing is like your first love! I liked that she protrays that not all vampires are bad and that some are actually very loving and gentle. DISLIKES: I actually wanted alittle more loving in the book, not really sex, just more intamacy between the 2 lovers. Left me with some deep questions, but then I analize and think too hard about books sometimes. I would rate this book, 1 being bad and 10 being good, a 8. I read this book in 3 days! Worth trying!! You should too!

  You'll get hooked!
Review created: 10/05/07
by:

At first, it seems like any other cutsie teenage fiction, but Meyer's character development/description is so go, you can't help but get hooked. Everyone I've talked to about it feels the same way. It feels like you are there, in the novel. It becomes your alternate-reality.

It's so great, because it's obviously fiction, and a fantasy world. It's similar to Harry Potter, in which it's set in a "normal" world, and you can't help but believe and wish that the fantasies and myths around you could actually be real.

It's intended audience is teenagers, but anyone, any age, would love it! I read all 3 books in the series in about 3 days. You won't be able to put it down!

  Rush of Adrenaline!

I was told about this book by a family memeber. And was told it's BETTER than Harry Potter. Not possible I thought. Boy was I wrong! I wouldn't say it was better but compariable and different. It had the fictional characters of vampires like Harry Potter with wizards but with a very believeable love story. I couldnt put it down when reading. I found myself wanting to be Bella and totally inlove and submerged by Edward. Would I wake up with him there watching me sleep? It felt so real. That I wanted my husband to be just like him( which I will say my husband if very close) I found myself having a school crush with Edward. The constant closeness that he would allow himself to see how much he could resist her. And how much I didnt care I wanted Bella to turn into a vampire! This was amazing as was the rest of the sequel books. When is the next one coming out! UGGHH..

I read all three books over a weekend. I couldn't put them down. Meyer uses a first person writing style that brings you close to the characters. In the end, I felt that I knew each of the characters personally. As an adult, the heart pounding romance was intriguing. Teens (and adults too) will fall for Edward with ease and appreciate his "old fashion" take on PG rated romance.

  Worth giving up sleep for!
Review created: 08/07/07

This is an incredibly engaging and suspenseful book that is easy to get into. Stephenie Meyer creates a uniquely realistic world that I think everyone should live in for a while. I stayed up all night reading "Twilight" and was compelled to buy and read the sequel "New Moon" the very next day. I can hardly wait for the third book to come out! Because the storyline and characters are unpredictable and somewhat volatile, "Twilight" keeps you turning pages to find out what's going to happen next.
