Grand Theft Auto IV (Playstation 3)

I played and beat this game on the 360, but on PS3 there is no comparison in the better gaming experience. graphics and no pop in, thank the heavens...Niko is the best GTA character to date as well, from gameplay to the story line GTA IV is "one" of the best next gen games yet.

Grand Theft Auto IV (Playstation 3) is one of my favorite games. The graphic is outstanding! pictures an actions look like almost real! Cars, Girls, missions, it really cool, you should get it.
Has multiplayer feature which make the game more intensive.

The game is set in a redesigned rendition of Liberty City, a fictional city based heavily on modern day New York City. It follows Niko Bellic, a war veteran from Eastern Europe, who comes to the United States in search of the American Dream, only to find his cousin has lied about the wealth that was promised to be awaiting him. Like other games in the series, GTA IV features "open-world" gameplay that gives the player more control over their playing experience. GTA IV is the first console game in the series to feature an online multiplayer mode, which contains fifteen different game types.

Whenever I can, I buy on ebay. I feel safe and every kind of problems that you can face you can count on Ebay.

I bought the game on the second week after release, I think, and it is marvelous.

i love the grand theft auto game its jus that the retail stores gto so expense on games these days and im not able 2 keep up with the pricing. I bought the game because ui havent already bought it so i decided 2 purchases it on ebay.

Great game, massive details massive landscape and so much to do youll get lost thinking this a whole new life! But dont think itll be easy because those cops are watching you! Greats are great and sound detail is excellent.

PROLOGUE: So when I first heard that GTA IV was coming out, I had a mixed reaction. I had stopped Playing GTA: San Andreas in disgust after there were simply too many... Things. Sure, the graphics were good and all that, but the storyline was relatively complicated, and there was too much ground to cover-- so the game was not really fun, it was too time-consuming, and things like going to the gym all the time beg the question as to why the makers of that game wanted us to get fat sitting on our butts lifting weights with our FICTIONAL character. Perhaps this is Rockstar's plan to incapacitate the 17-28 year old demographic, and to keep the obesity rates in the United States nice and high.

REVIEW: From the word go, I put this game into my PS3 and had to wait like 3 minutes for the game just to boot up. First it had to install software on my PS3, or something to that effect. Then, after that, I had to upgrade my software or firmware or whatever, which brought me to a screen where it asked me ot create a save file. Basically, I had to wait almost a HALF HOUR before everything was done saving, loading, uploading, downloading, sidewaysloading and inside-out-loading.

Now here's the kicker-- one of the main reasons I bought this game was for the ONLINE MULTIPLAYER GAME. Now, I'm brand new to PS3 and GTA IV, so I didn't know that you have to PREREGISTER FOR PS3 Online, which I wasn't about to do because it was 1:00 in the morning when I first got this item into my PS3 at the same time, and after already wasting a half hour, I wasn't about to do it again. Plus, I figured I should probably learn some of the controls before I went and got murdered by people on Online Multiplayer.

So I start playing the game, and right off the bat, I notice the controls are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from San Andreas, GTA: IV and GTA Vice. To drive, you have to pull R2 trigger, to reverse it's L2, to handbreak it's R1, and basically everything is different. The controls and handling on this game are atrocious. To turn the car, you can't turn too hard, or you end up pulling a turn like Timothy Dalton in the movie Made Men. (You end up turned in a complete 180 degree turn, and are turned in the exact opposite way you came from.

Your character moves slow, and only with the help of the X (I believe) button you can make him sprint for a while, and go faster down stairs, but not MUCH faster. Switching weapons is awkward and uncomfortable.

Basically, I suggest to people who want this game to WAIT UNTIL IT COMES DOWN IN PRICE. This game is not worth more than 25 dollars of your money-- literally. With controls this bad, and all these save features and software installations that take a half hour, it really takes a lot of the fun out of it.

OFFICIAL RECOMMENDATION: STAY AWAY from this game until it gets to around $25.00 or less. Otherwise, you're going to feel like you've just been ripped off... Unless you're an extremely patient and understanding person...

GTA IV is simply amazing. It is a combination of all of the work that Rockstar has put into the title from it's start, great storytelling - characters etc. The best part is that some of the old things that have stuck with the game since it's start is/are still there,., Excellent game!!

Great game, but I was under the impression the PS3 version was graphically superior. For some reason, the picture quality on my XBR3 (1080p) shows strong aliasing in almost all portions of the game, although the other reviews say the PS3 version has more antialiasing passes than the 360 version, and yet the 360 version at my friend's house running in 720p on a smaller TV looks graphically superior. I mean it still looks good but it is a strange disparity to be sure. On the flip side, MGS4 looks INCREDIBLE. Just saying.

Order was placed on 27 May 2008, never recieved my video game, Seller just happened to not be a registered user, after they recieved my money. Now i have to go throught the long rigorous hassle of dealing with paypal to file a claim, and the crazy thing is nothing will happen to this damn thief.
