I got this game for a bargain, and it's excellent fun playing with all the heroes and leveling them up. Excellent graphics and playability - very forgiving on the younger gamers and easy enough for the elders (new to videogames) to grasp.

Do you like button mashing? How about comic-book characters? Well, that's what this game has to offer.

The best way to play this game is with four players in the same room in "arcade mode" - you find yourself doing everything you can to beat your friends. It's great!

Now the bad - the game gets pretty tedious - you basically do the same thing over and over again - you button mash to beat up bad guys. While the story is good enough to keep you hooked in, it's not going to win any awards. They do make up for the sheer repetition of the game by continually changing the setting - making for a tour of the marvel universe - a nice side benefit!

For today's price - you can pick it up used for 10 bucks - this is a great buy. Seriously; buy it, get some friends together, order pizza, and have a blast! For competitive button-mashing, it doesn't get much better.

I owned Marvel Ultimate Alliance for Xbox but it wouldn't play on my new Xbox360. So this is a replacement for a good game that is fun to play with all of the different superheroes. There are also alot of downloads for this title on Xbox Live.

If you liked Baldurs gate, and Champions of Norroth. Then this game is a Comic geeks (like Me) fantasy. Great graphics easy gameplay. The added characters for the 360 make it worthwhile to a true geek. Replay value is very high. Plus numerous unlockables. Give it a go and sit basck and just have fun.

Being a big fan of Marvel comics, I was itching at the chance to play this game. I was so hungry to actually be Daredevil and Mr. Fantastic that when I finally purchased the game, I was glad that it lived up to my expectations.

The graphics within the game are very good and the selection of playable characters is amazing. The vast array of other Marvel character enemies is seriously the best I have ever seen in any video game, for any system. You lock horns with everyone from Loki to Lizard to Rhino to Dr. Doom to Shocker to Blackheart to The Skrulls to Galactus to Mephisto to Ultron; the list goes on for days, no joke.

Gameplay is tedious but very esy to pick up; gameplay is identical to X-Men: Rise of Apocalypse. The vast selection of super powers for each playable character is astounding and extensive.

Overall, the game is almost perfect. The reason it's "almost" is because the game does tend to get a TAD repetitive after awhile; you can only kill enemies so many ways. The game is without a doubt outstanding, easily one of the best games in the past couple years.

I bought this game because I was looking for a game that I could star playing and enjoy, that simple, not hard to understand, easy controls, cooperative mode in xbox live, like I said you just place the disc on the console and enjoy it.
I also like the cinemas in this game (I would like more but its ok).
This game don't have the great graphics, but its not very important talking about this game.
In my opinion this is a good game that you may try.

As a fan of many of Marvel's comics, I really was looking forward to this game. When I first started it, I suddenly got concerned that it wasn't what I expect. I thought it was going to be a typical button masher game, which I find boring. As I got more involved, I realized that each character has many different attacks, and some of them have to be earned. I now find this being my most played game.
The co-op is fun also. My 10 year old daughter loves jumping into co-op with me and taking the role of some of the female Marvel characters.

I think this game is great for a wide band of ages and definitely for comic book fans.

This game has a great single-player mode, it will take you quite a few hours to get through. you can get a lot of characters in this game, and the best thing about the 360 version is you can get up to 10 new characters because the 360 version has originally 2 more, than you can buy 8 more on xbox live for about $10.00USD which isn't so bad. I love the multi-player for this game though. It is so easy and fun to just pick up and play with multiple people. The graphics are pretty good, but the graphics on a game like this aren't meant to be amazing. The sound is pretty good to. Each character has their own unique special moves which I love a lot. This game is for sure worth what the average price is right now.

If you don't own this game yet don't buy this version. Get the new Marvel Ultimate Alliance: GOLD EDITION. It includes 8 additional characters.

The Gold Edition will include 4 heroes The Hulk, Cyclops, Hawkeye, and Nightcrawler as well as 4 villans Doctor Doom, Magneto, Venom, and Sabretooth.
These characters are not playable on this edition.

There is currently no word on if these characters will be made available for the PS3, Wii or PC.

These additional characters make this game better on the Xbox 360 than any other system.

Fun game. Great to play with a couple of friends online. If you like comic books then you will love this game.

This game is great for comic book lovers because it has an array of characters and all of the character's story lines run well with each other. Only thing is that there is not a lot of people on-line with xbox live to play against. Great team game if you can get people to play with. I would recommend this game because it is one of the few games out there that you don't mind picking up and playing again after you complete it.

awesome game, decent plot, addictive gameplay. Had good range of characters, graphice were exelent. ONLY con: you had to actually buy some of the characters with microsoft points ($8.99 USD) to unlock them all)

The game came exactly as described. The cd was in excellent condition with no scratches. Shipping was very quick. I received the game about 4 days after I bought it on ebay. This was an all around great experience.

Great game if your Marvel fan. some draw backs are stupid things that the developers could hvae solved if they thought more about it. Collecting the Sim discs is no walk in the park, so if you miss one you will either have to play the game all over again or be lucky enough to have a save just at that level to go back and get it. So to unlock the silver surfer, may take time.

To put it bluntly, the graphics are stunning. The characters, environments, the enemies, all well detailed. You'll find yourself gazing at the background from time to time be it you're in an industrial complex or a hellish dimension. Admittedly, there are points where if feels as if you've been in the same area before due to similarity in room design from stage to stage, but that's assuming you're not busy trying to survive from an onslaught of minions. One major flaw, however, are drops in the frame-rate, causing hiccups in action. However, you'll find them forgivable.

Fairly intuitive here. Two buttons act as combat buttons (weak & strong), while you have your jump, block, and grab buttons. The triggers bring up mini-menus that allow you to use special abilities or issue commands to your A.I. partners. Everything is in order here.

A bit disappointing in this department. Right off the bat, the voice acting is probably the biggest complaint here. Some of the characters just don't seem right (ex. Colossus and Thor really stand out, not in a good way) while others are fine and fitting. The background music is okay, nothing really wow-inspiring or amazing however they suffice.

Gameplay [8/10]

The gameplay is really hit or miss with its audience. If you enjoy pure, hack n' slash action then MUA delivers it in spades. If you find that you get bored relatively easily with hack n' slash games, then this'll be a rental for you. Either way you look at it, the gameplay is solid and delivers the action you've been seeking with the RPG options (stat upgrade, equipment selection, etc). In the first stage, you'll already find yourself fighting off five villains from the Marvel Universe. From there, they just get bigger and nastier (c'mon, would you expect any less?). As soon as you start the game, you'll have roughly 20 some characters at your disposal with four unlockable characters; add to that each character has at least four different, unlockable costume options that alter their stats. An impressive list, though some fans may be disappointed with who made the roster (ex. So I get Luke Cage but no Hulk? Huh...). MUA also features nice multiplayer options, with you being able to grab a friend and do up to four-player co-op in the middle of any stage (stuck in a rut? Grab your friend and see if he can help you). Don't have friends you can call on? Get yourself on Live and team-up, or go for some head-to-head competition. However, online is rather lag-prone (as with other games, but if you thought single-stutter was bad, online gets nasty). But for the most part, there's solid multiplayer action to be found here. Only reason why gameplay hasn't gained a high score is being you'll find yourself getting the "seen this, done that" syndrome immediately, especially if you've played the X-Men Legend games. Take it for what you will.
