Olympus Stylus 720 SW 7.1 Megapixel

ITS SO SMALL AND STILL TAKES GREAT PICTURES. AND THE VIEWER IS ONE OF THE BIGEST AROUND. I LOVE IT ,IAM INTO THE ANIMAL WATCHING THING. AND WHEN I'AM JUST OUT EASYING ALONG IN THE WOODS THIS CAMERA IS SO HANDY TO HAVE AT HAND..

I love this camera. Just remember its a POINTnSHOOT. The battery life is very good,the zoom is ok ,speed ,menus, loading and play back are good. Have not used under water only in the rain, that worked well.I took pics and vidieo at a off-road race and was pleased.

I bought this camera after view videos about it and for the waterproof / candlight features esp . i was amazed at the waterproof options..movie, still, macro..pretty cool. those work pretty darn well from my experience, however for normal inside photos the color is very dull and red eye sux. i love that its' durable and i could hand it off to kids without worry. but now i've been using my other camera for everyday photos. i keep this one as a backup for when i go on a trip and don't need the best pics or just wanna throw it in my pocket if i go dancing and don't want to carry it around in my purse..or something like that. basically it's small and durable but dosn't give the best photos all the time.

I purchased this camera because it had the feature of taking pictures underwater.I have been disappointed too many times with the disposable cameras and missed many shots due to their limited capabilities.I read about this camera and loved the features of being shockproof and mostly waterproof.We swim or snorkel a great deal and take pictures.The lightweight size is wonderful for easy to care too.I would recommend this camera to everyone!

This camera was purchased as a gift and is the exact camera I purchased less than a year ago. I was able to buy the camera, plus 2 extra batteries, plus a carrying case, plus extra memory cards for about 1/3 the price I paid for my camera w/1 battery and a very small, inadequate memory card. I had researched this camera for over 6 months because I broke my prior 2 digital cameras by dropping them. This Olympus Stylus was the only digital camera on the market within my price range with impact resistance. An added bonus was the underwater photography, which I have yet to use. One aspect I do not like is the use of an external battery charger, meaning one extra part to pack for overnight trips! The up side of this external battery charger is that you can have 2 batteries and one is always ready to use! My E bay purchased camera was mailed very rapidly, well packed and all as described! Only down side was it was NOT shiny and new...minor aesthetic wear spots only. Well worth the financial difference: If I had purchased all the accessories and camera new, I would have spent approximately $600! I paid less than $200, including shipping with insurance! Great way to go!

I love my new Olympus Stylus camera! The camera does all it should plus more! It is waterproof for 10 feet and shock proof. It takes beautiful crystal clear photos as well. I love Olympus cameras but this one is over the top! Kudos to Olympus for another GREAT product.

I was the winning bidder on this item. Unfortunately, my payment to seller was delayed due to Hurricane Dean and Tropical Storm Felix, eventually returned to me, with seller posting a "non payment strike" on my record. I never received the item, as seller sold it otherwise than on eBay even after I contacted seller to say that payment would be delayed due to storms (banks and post offices were closed for 7 business days). The product appeared to be what I wanted, as I needed a digital camera for underwater shots, and this camera is waterproof up to 10 feet, which was well within my parameters, and also shockproof from a distance of 5 feet, which is in excess of the normal distance that a camera is most likely to be dropped from. I have purchased Olympus digital cameras, and will look for another Stylus 720, as my precious Olympus cameras have given me QUALITY END PRODUCTS - the photographs or mini videos.

I already knew i would love this camara.. What camara is better than one that can go 10 ft underwater and is shockproof? I like it except I wish it had come with a memory card.

I sought this camera because it is small...and it is as close to indestructable as a digital camera can be. I personally tested the waterproof capability and it is true to its word...although I wouldn't recommend taking it to the bottom of the deep end of the pool without additional waterproof casing. The thing is stylish and impressive to look at.

As for picture quality...The camera itself has 25 shooting modes varying from portrait to underwater macro and video. I'll admit I haven't mastered all of its features as of writing this review, but for some reason when you first turn the camera on, it gives you a terrible generic shooting mode which produces blurry pictures unless you have nerves of steel or a tripod. But after switching to a different shooting mode, this problem is reduced significantly. It also has one of the best video shooting modes of any camera I've seen...it's close to video camera quality. It also records sound and has a speaker so it's able to playback the video with sound on the camera's massive LCD screen.

I'm extremely pleased with my purchase and would recommend this camera to any amateur photographer that doesn't want to worry about keeping their camera from harm...because like Olympus claims, "this camera will survive anything you can survive."

It's a good product, for sure. I like it a lot. I recommend it to whoever loves taking pictures of landscapings and etc.

camera is good and pretty easy to use. although u can't really tell that it has 7.2 pxl, pics turn out to be as if were taken by a simpler 5.1 pxl camera.

Love this camera (I have owned 2 other Olympus cameras). The underwater feature is great (works well) and it has a very versatile menu system. The only thing I don't like is the fact that the USB cable is not standard.

The best thing is that settings are saved (so if you set to HQ image, macro on, etc) so that when you turn the camera on - it is set to what it was before, it does not default to standard settings, as previous Olympus cameras did.

I love everything about it even though I have not had time to really learn it. I bought it because I love going to the pool and beach and am also so worried that my camera might get wet, now I don't have to worry, Now I would like to know if there is a way of purchasing an extended warranty for it.

I AM SHOPPING FOR A COUPLE OF THESE CAMERAS TO BUY ON EBAY. I AM LOOKING BECAUSE I HAVE ONE AND ITS THE BEST PURCHASE I V EVER MADE. I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SHARE THAT WITH MY FAMILY FOR CHRISTMAS. ITS THE BEST!!!!!!

I took this camera to Mexico on vacation. The underwater pictures turned out absolutely beautiful! The blue of the water turned out brilliantly! Taking night pictures is an impossible task... they all turned out looking terrible. My advise is to get this camera for water use only. If you swim alot or are going on a vacation it'll be great -- it's small, light-weight, and you will be pleased with the water pictures!

The beach, boat, and underwater pictures that I took with this camera turned out well, but every other picture I took with this camera was horrible. I am not sure why, but I couldnt take a landscape, close up, indoor, outdooor, etc. picture. The quality was horrible, grainy, blurry, terrible coloy, etc.

I liked the 720SW camera so much I bought another one a few months later for a friend .

The first 720 SW I bought in Miami for the beach and fishing trips I had planned. The camera was amazing in the ease in which to use it . I overpaid in Miami big time ( $600 with a 2gig card and case ) , but the second one I bought when I got back to Los Angeles off EBAY and saved a small fortune (less then $200 ) . At less then $200 this is a bargain and even though I got robbed by the camera dealer in Miami I am glad I bought it as the pictures I took in Miami are incredible easing the pain of overpaying .

At the hotel pool in Miami ( Loews ) , I was the center of attention when I enetered the pool with everyone yelling at me as I had my camera in my hand with the wrist strap. They were saying things like " what an idiot taking his camera into the pool " "What a moron " things like that I could hear all around the pool area .
Those people quickly felt stupid when I started taking underwater pictures of myself and my friend . Several hotel guests approached me and then wrote down the camera model number and thought this was the coolest camera they had ever seen . They all thought I just ruined my camera !! Little did they know !

I am an avid fisherman and love the pool as well as the jacuzzi and this camera just fits everything I would ever need in a all around camera . I haven't used my professional and bulky Sony DSC-828 since buying the 720SW . While the Sony is far better for pro studio and dry setting pics , not much is sacraficed in having the small compact 720SW. I love this camera and would only replace it with the greater water-proof depth Olympus model once I take up scuba diving !

I hope my review helped anyone thinking of or considering buying this camera as you wont be dissapointed but rather impressed as well as impressing anyone seeing you use this in the pool . Enjoy !

This is a fantastic digital camera. It is the best camera I have ever owned. I am in the market for a replacement as I made the critical error of misplacing it at a big Sacramento mall after taking about 30 pic's at my Grandma's 90th birthday and family reunion. Unfortunatley only the camera bag was turned in. I truly wish they would have left the memory card in the bag because now we do not have any of the pic's from my Grandma's birthday. Maybe Karma will come around....
Great all around camera that works well under water and is shock proof as well.
I took it on a camping adventure in Baja and got some great underwater shots of all kinds of sea life.

I bought this for the shock and water resistentcies and it's awesome. I like having a tough and powerful pocket camera on (or under) the water and snows: it's small, light and easy to palm or pack. Two minor alerts: There are a gazillion (actually 26) settings and you must choose a set up each time to get a super-high-quality pic. Just turning it on and shooting yields a screwy pic. Also, I'm old-school enough to miss having a viewfinder, especially on sunny days, when even the super-sized display can be difficult to see.

Excellent product and the best price. Real happy with the pictures and quality. Small enough to carry on purse. Pouch big enough to hold camera and other things.

I am a cave photographer and this is hands down the best I have used. Tough and waterproof are two "must haves" for the photos I take. The pictures are extremely good quality.
This camera is loaded with features. I can set the shutter for night scene which gives me aprox 4 sec of exposure, which is enough time for people holding flashes firing manually to get it right the first time. The sound alerts of when the shutter opens and closes are great for that also.
