Excellent transaction. Distance estimation is off on long trips, but the turns are accurate. On short trips it is very accurate. I work for a volunteer fire dept and use it on calls.
For the cost, this is a great little GPS device... make sure to update the maps frequently and def invest in an external eantenna. Takes 10 mins sometimes to find sats.
I like this gps. It is easy to use and operate. It has a 2006 map with it and a lot of the things in my area are too new to appear. I have been able to work around that but it is a little annoying. I also don't like some of the route choices. All in all I like it alot.
I HATED THE SCROLL ON THE i3. I MADE IT HARDER TO USE. PLUS ONLY A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF STATES COULD BE LOADED. SAVE YOUR MONEY & BUY A GARMIN 330. I DID AND AM VERY SATISFIED WITH IT. IT HAS ALL 50 STATES + TOUCH SCREEN AND ONLY RAN ME 179.99 AT BEST BUY.
I love the Garmin I3 GPS. It is an excellent device. No need for anything more. You don't need anything bigger or more powerful. The Garmin I3 is awesome and just what is needed to get to and from.
this is a very basic system, the installed maps are really rough, so you need to install the local maps from the DVD. has voice guided directions but basic again it doesn't tell the street names.
The Garmin I bought was absolutely beyond my expectation, I got what I wanted and it was in an excellent condition. Its working perfectly. I will definitely buy again from the seller because he's genuine.
I decided to buy a GPS because I found the directions I was getting from the online map sites were not reliable and frequently wrong. I didn't want to spend a bundle. I did dome research on the Garmin StreetPilot i3. It had all the features I wanted so I decided to go for it. I am so happy with this item. It is accurate and precise. I can put in an address and no matter how far off the course it has set I go, it manages to give me the most direct way to my destination. The screen is clear and easy to read. I do find the verbal directions especially helpful since I am watching the road and don't want to look at the screen. I just follow the directions. The only thing I do not like about this item is inputting the destination address. I find it slightly difficult to make selections only because the roll dial you use for this task is so touch sensitive. Other than that, it is a great product for the money.
Easy to use, inexpensive, HIGLY RELIABLE. Great unit for commuters and travelers. If you don't care about hunting down artifacts & treasures in the mountains or jungles and you have no interest in learning all the technical details on more advanced GPS use, this is the unit for you. Replace the included 128MB "Micro SD" memory card with a 2GB upgrade and you can load DETAILED MAPS for ALL of North America with room to spare. With a good set of the higher current NiMH "AA" rechargables and a fast charger, you can be fully equipped to jump into any vehicle anywhere in North America at any given moment, for less than $200 total!! This unit runs very well on just 2 "AA" cells, so a set of four cells with a car/home 1 HR fast charger is the way to go (check MCM Electronics in Ohio for a bargain on the cells & charger). No cords, no fuss. I think It's time to discard all my maps, because I have not touched one of them since buying this great little gem! By the way, the Garmin StreetPilot i3 is WAAS capable, which means losing satellite contact & guidance is both brief & rare.
This is a great little device, worked liked a charm right out of the box. I was tired of asking for direction and getting lost using the maps printed from the internet map sites.
I purchased one of these for my niece, and after setting up and seeing how handmuchy it was,I then purchased one for myself. Then one day my boss was riding in my truck and was so impressed he asked me to order one for him, so I did and it is very safe to say we are all very happy with the compact, easy to use GPS navigation aid,Thank you very much for your prompt and timely service.
I purchased this device because my wife and I frequently take vacation road trips for several days at a time. We took it on a trip within the first days after receiving it. It surpassed my expectations in every respect, especially for the reasonable cost. It is very simple and intuitive to use. It was a snap to load the maps from my home computer and was up and operating as soon as I put it in the car. The scroll wheel works great, although not as fast as a touch screen would have been. But I put a screen protector on it (also purchased on eBay) and I'm not sure you can do that with a touch screen. The more I use it, the more I like it. It makes traveling in unknown areas much more relaxing and safer as you really can't get lost with it. It has most of the same features as more expensive models. And I like the fact that it is so small and compact as it is very unobtrusive when positioned on the windshield. It came with a 128Mb TransFlash card, which held the maps for several states. I recently purchased a 1Gb card (also on eBay) and was able to put over half of the states on it with room to spare. I think a 2Gb card would fit most of North America. So, in my opinion, it is not a drawback that you have to load maps into memory. You could even keep different regions on separate chips if you wanted to. I really like the feature of saving Favorite Places. We put several destinations into the device as we were planning our trip and they were already programmed when we needed them. The device also has many attractions already stored with the maps, such as lodging, food, etc., to further make traveling enjoyable. I would recommend this device to anyone. In fact, it would make a wonderful gift for children going off to college and people whose jobs involve driving to new areas all the time, such as sales and delivery people. The relatively low cost and extreme functionality of this device make it a great value.
I own a similar model and my brother wanted one. The one I bought has a color screen. It is a life saviour when you are in areas you are unfamiliar with. I like the fact that I can put it in my purse or travel bag and then in another state I can drive like I have been there for years. I have already been asked to watch and purchase for another friend who has seen this one.
this item was brand new..and i won it at a great price..i really need it i go out of town a lot due to job and it helps me get where im going faster...thanks for a great item at a loow bid
We purchased this Garmin Streetpilot after we came home from vacation. We had rented a rental car with one in it. This machine was a true lifesaver. It tells you everything you would ever want to know. It's super easy to use, fast, accurate and works just as well as the more expensive ones. It takes the worry out of being lost and having to stop and ask for directions. You can find restaurants, tourist sites, hotels, rest areas and a lot more. I recommend getting one especially if you are planning a road trip.
it did not work and was a refurbished item. I had no problem returing the product to the seller and they were extremly helpful and apologized for any inconvenience.
the i3 GPS was everything I wanted in the product line, except for the screen size. Having only seen the factory installed units before, I was disappointed that I really had to concentrate in order to view the small screen. However the product functions perfectly and other than size does exacatly what I wanted. And through E Bay I get to see many items, and enjoy the mystery of the bidding process. I don't always win, but like the feeling of an old fashion auction.
The i3 has been great, with its small size it doesn't interfere with driving, because it doesn't take up a huge area on the windshield or dash like some of the bigger models. I would recomend getting a 2gig micro sd card, so you can install all the map data on one card and have all the maps on one card. It comes with a 128mb micro sd card and will hold information for a few states at a time. You will need a computer with a dvd drive and usb port to load the maps to the i3. It is awesome if you travel for business or for pleasure to take it with you. It is compact but loaded with information. The i3 is amazing and I am sure you wouldn't be dissapointed with this little gem.
I BOUGHT IT BECAUSE OF PRICE. IT DOES PRETTY GOOD AS FAR as directions go, the only drawback so far is how you have to load states it doesn't have all of the u.s. loaded. all in all it works about as good as some that cost more
First of all you must have a computer with a usb port or you can not use the i3 because you won't be able to put the maps on it. The card that comes with it will hold about 4 states on it. A two gig card will fit the entire U.S. The unit only takes a micro SD card. So get a 2 gig Micro SD Card.
This unit has everything you need from a navigation system. I think that its great. Two things that they could of improved on is that it is not touch screen and it is very small. It is well worth the money and is easy to set. Voice commands ensure that you will never be driving around lost again!
Works great, but does not know a lot of the new housing developments. I would suggest buying the 1 GB memory card like I did. That way you can down load larger amounts of maps. Over all works great!
