Garmin StreetPilot® c340 Car GPS Receiver

The Garmin C340 was one of the best things I have ever purchased. It is very user friendly and can get you anywhere. Just took a trip to St. Louis from Louisville, KY and it got me everywhere I wanted to go. You will never get lost agian with a Garmin.

I love the fact that it gives you the name of the street you are turning on to and list upcoming streets. It has served me well already I drive for a living and it has only sent me down one road that I have not been able to get to. It is pretty quick tp recalculate and I call her sunshine!!!

This GPS system is very easy to understand and I need that. The instructions were simple to understand and I actually had fun putting my address's into it.
I needed this item because I am the worlds worst at getting lost, although I WILL stop and ask directions! Now I won't need to ask anyone for directions, my GPS will tell me. This one also tells you the street name that you will be turning on to...I really like that.
I don't dislike anything about it yet.

The fact that it tells the name of the street ahead you make turns and the early warning is working great for me.

REconditioned model has better color and sound than my store bought one!!! Seemed to be an upgraded model also. Has options that my earlier store bought model!! VERY PLEASED!!!!!

very easy to use. highly recommend. maps pretty well updated. came wrapped as if new. no complaints . no vehicle on the road should be without it.

I purchased the c340 because it seemed to get good reviews. It had the featured I wanted especially text to speech I have taken it on one trip in the short time I have had it and it performed like a charm. The only thing I did not like is it does give you enough time when the next turn appears. So far I am enjoying using the item, but still have a lot to learn..

We bought this GPS for a cross country trip we just took and it worked perfectly. When we decided to take a different route than it suggested, it would recalculate and show us the way. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some other GPS's but for a basic directional product you can't beat the price.

This model is several years old but still has price vs. features value. In my opinion, the most important feature of any GPS is voice instructions that name streets in addition to just announcing turns. The updateable (system software - free & new maps - not free) c340 has this and most of the features of newer more expensive Garmin units. Size seems to be the major advancement of the newer units.

The down side is mounting. It may take days or weeks but the Garmin vacuum window mount always falls off. I solved the problem supergluing the mount to a Nav-Mat non skid pad which sits on my dash. I can position the unit for better visibility and touchscreen stuff. I can also lift it off the dash for heat or security reasons without all the disconnecting hassle.

Love the simplicity of this unit ie: easy to use but very accurate
battery life is good screen color and visablity are good charge time and battery life are great overal agreat value for this unit

I love that this Garmin Streetpilot C340 GPS is extremely easy to use. It's an excellent unit that doesn't require a degree to operate. It has never steered me wrong, is always dead on accurate, quick and easy to setup, has never given me a problem and best of all, it didn't drain my account when I bought it. Best bang for your buck in my opinion. Did I mention this was my first GPS? I'm completely satisfied I chose this one. I couldn't have made a better purchase. I bought it because a friend of mine has almost the same model and I saw how easy it was to use. I thought they were complicated and full of features you don't need or want (kinda like cell phones are now) so I stayed away from them and just used google or mapquest maps. But this GPS is awesome! Way more accurate than any of those maps I printed up. I also thought they were expensive and for something you're gonna use what, once every couple of months? I didn't think they were worth it, but this one sure is! I'm glad I bought it, and I actually use it a little more than I thought I would so it turned out to be a worthwhile purchase.

this garmin streetpilet c340 is a good buy and works very good for the price.
It takes a little time to learn but it work will on two trips. It showed me
short cuts that I was not sure to take on my own.

WHAT I FOUND IS THAT THE GARMIN 340 LIKE THERE OTHER GARMINS,WORK WITHOUT ANY
TYPE OF PROBLEM. FROM THE MOMENT THAT YOU START IT UP,IT STARTS TO FUNCTION AND
WILL GIVE YOU MAY MILES OF GREAT DIRECTIONS. I WOULD RECCOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE
LOOKING TO PURCHASE A GPS.

The GPS Garmin is the best vehicle GPS for the money. ou plug it in and that is it. It give the Street name you are to turn down big advantage over the gps's at this price range.

Good: Best talking GPS system I've seen/heard. Easy to understand. Not complicated ...no "frills" to deal with. Saves favorite destinations easily.

Bad: Simulated drive is WAAAAAY slow. Mispronounces street names. Gets confused if you detour, but re-orients it's self quickly enough. I recommend this system to those of you who simply need simple directions.

I'm only giving this an average rating because after I updated the system software on my unit from the website it rendered my unit unusable with all map detail lost.
But because I consider the unit and the software all part of what I paid for it only rates average.
The GPS itself works flawless for what it can do.
Software provided is low

Driving instructions for small towns sometimes send you down 1 way streets the wrong way. Did not like the idea that I had to agree to a long list before I could register the Garmin navigator.

I had borrowed this same GPS model from my sister-in-law last year and it was so easy to use I had to have one of my own. It is simple to use, just plug it in and follow the prompts. I didn't even have to read the book to use it. The display is bright, colorful and the directions are accurate.

Well the product had all the necessary accessories, was nicely packed and all - but it does perform sub par. I live in Baltimore City and it keeps loosing satellite connection during driving. The only good thing is there's one year warranty on this refurbished piece so I can get it replaced and hopefully that won't do the same thing.

this is a great product...very useful and did not know how long i went without it.....forget mapquest....get a garmin

I bought this for my college age daughter, a fairly new driver, and she loves it. She can go anywhere now, she said she is "invincible". We also have the Garmin 650 Nuvi, and this family will not travel without a Garmin now!

GPS is a great product, no more needing of Thomas guide.
