Pharos Science (PT200) Car GPS Receiver

I am using Pharos Bluetooth GPS for almost a year
* Hardware:
During my year period I had to send the unit to fix (the hardware is it not much of a shock proof). Pharos fixed it with no questions asked and paid for the return shipping.
While driving at night you may find the light in the front of the unit a little bit distracting - you can turn the illuminating side towards the front glass (I admit this is not elegant).
I had no problems with the reliability of the hardware, it is fairly good.
* Software
ONE OF THE WORST I HAVE SEEN !!!
Pharos will let you download software updates, but still, they have a lot to learn. Believe me.
Though the street database is up-to-date, you will find that there are lots of problems with the algorithms (AI) and user interface (UI) which are embedded in the software (map is not rotating, auto zoom is not deployed correctly, interchanges are not explained well, search functions are not full and can't intelligently slice the street and points of interest database in a matter tat will help you).
Unless you get the software for free, I'd strongly recommend to avoid it. and even if you are using it for free, think seriously to get another software...
If the software is bundled (this is the deal I got) I will simply skip this product and buy another one because you don't get a fair software for your money, and it is a shame to waste it like that
