Cons:
None
My daughter received the Disney Cinderella movie for her birthday last year from her god father and his girl friend. They adore my daughter and know that she is a huge fan of Cinderella. Anyhow the week before my daughter's birthday I happened to mention that my daughter was very upset that her vcr broke and ate her Cinderella tape. They knew that we have a dvd player so they bought her the dvd version.
The DVD version of Cinderella is so much more colorful, vibrant and entertaining than it was on the Vhs tape. The tape was the same exact tape I used to watch as a kid, and really was not too far from being black and white compared to the DVD version. The DVD version is 100% better than the old VHS. I am so pleased that she got it for her birthday as is she. We both have watched it many times since. Cinderella is one tale I will never get tired of!
Cinderella father passed away when she was just a child. She went from beautiful dresses to rags and aprons. He step mother turned her into a made. And her step sisters. Well they just treated Cinderella awful.
The main Characters consisted of Cinderella, Jaq the mouse, Gus Gus the chubby mouse, The wicked Step Mother, Anastasia, Drazilla, the Prince, the King, the Grand Duke, Lucifer the cat, Bruno the dog, Mary the mouse, and of course the Fairy God Mother.
Cinderella was forced day in and day out to clean the huge house. Even things she had already done. Her step mother and step sisters made her. She cooked for them, cleaned for them and listened to their every word. More like a slave than a family member.
Cinderella had dreams. She would dream of lovely things, and a better life. She hoped so much that one day her dreams would come true if she just kept on believing that they would come true some day.
At the royal palace the King orders a ball be held, in honor of finding the price a bride. The King wants to have grand children before her is too old to enjoy them to the fullest.
After receiving the invitation. Cinderella pleads with her step mother to let her go to the ball. Reluctantly the sneaky step mother agrees. But she has bigger plans for Cinderella. She tells Cinderella that is she can find some thing suitable to wear and finish her chores on time she may go with them to the ball.
Cinderella is exited, in her quarters she tells the mice and birds about the plans she has for an old pink dress. The dress was her mothers and was pretty but needed a lot of fixing before Cinderella could go to the ball in it. She shows the mice a diagram that shows what the dress will look like when she is done. But before she can begin she is called by her step mother and step sisters. The pile chores on Cinderella all day. Then when it comes time for the ball Cinderella is not ready.
The step mother tells Cinderella that there will be other balls to attend. Cinderella goes off to her room to cry. But she see lights turn on, she turns around and is shocked by what she sees! The mice and birds have created the perfect dress for her. Cinderella is delighted. She hurries to get dressed as she thanks her little friends for being so wonderful.
The carriage arrives to take them to the ball. As the step mother and step sisters are about to leave Cinderella stops them. She asks if her dress will do for the ball. And this makes the step sisters enraged with jealousy! Until the step mother notices something. Cinderella is wearing the beads Drazilla threw away and the sash that Anistasia threw away. They call her a thief. They begin ripping her dress till nearly nothing is left.
They leave for the ball leaving Cinderella to run in to the garden to cry. She lays her head on the bench and cries aloud that dreams don't come true. This is when her Fairy God Mother appears out of no where and soon Cinderella finds her head in the Fairy God Mother's lap and not on the bench anymore. The Fairy God mother changes everything for Cinderella. The mice into horse. The horse into a driver, the pumpkin in to a carriage and the dog Bruno in to a door man for Cinderella. She then gives Cinderella a beautiful gown, and wonderful glass slippers. Cinderella looks picture perfect.
The Fairy God Mother warns Cinderella that the magic will run out at midnight and she must leave the ball before the magic is through. She understands and thanks her repeatedly before heading on her way to the ball.
At the ball Cinderella's step mother and step sisters do not know who she is. But the Prince falls in love with her at first site. As she feels the same the moment she sees him. He dances with Cinderella all night. Until the clock strikes midnight and Cinderella leaves running away. Before the Prince could even ask her, her name.
The prince orders that the glass slipper found on the palace stairs be tried on ever maiden in the land. Will he find Cinderella and make her dreams come true? Will her step mother keep her locked away once she finds out that Cinderella was the woman the prince danced with? You will have to watch and see for the rest.
The Cinderella movie is very musical. A lot of singing and beautiful songs. You kind of can't help but to sing a long once you know the song. And that was great because the DVD was a double disk set. The original movie, and a music CD sound track from the movie!
I have loved this movie since I was a child and it is so nice to be able to share in it all over again with my own daughter as my mother did with me years ago.
It is a colorful fairytale. Certainly eye catching and very entertaining for little ones. It makes you believe in some way that dreams can come true. And that nice guys don't always finish last. That's a nice lesson to learn early on in life. And it's always fun to dream.
I highly recommend this movie.
