My son wanted this game and we looked around at some different places and they were either too expensive new or couldn't find them available at the video resale shop's which isn't suprising because it is a good game which they don't trade as often. We found it online for a very reasonable price and it was the Live Online Enabled version which was an added bonus. This game is now one of my son's favorite.

I hadn't played it when it first came out. Overall it is very entertaining despite being slightly more simple to play than nowaday games like Halo or Gears of War--which is maybe to its advantage, especially for people who are not 24-7 hardcore gamers. Perhaps best is the option of playing as any one of 4 "civilzations" [Republic, Trade Federation, Rebels or Empire] with all the appropriate characters for each, and doing so in any of galaxy-conquest mode, follow-the-plot mode, or online versus other players. It is a game worth trying, at the very least.

I really like the game. It has great graphics and all the new characters. This is one of my favorite games of the Xbox series.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first Star Wars Battlefront game, but this version is much better. The worlds are more interesting, the galactic conquest mode is more complicated, and the bonuses add more variety to the game. However, the old version was better in some ways. The AI was much harder to beat in the first version, and so presented more of a challenge.

All in all, a great game.

Great game! My brother and I agree it is one of the best, if not The best, Star Wars game ever. I say this because unlike most other SW games you already know the story and who the players are, and like its predecessor you jump straight into the action to try and accomplish whichever type game you have chosen.
One addition to Battlefront II, from the original, is you get to have space battles! THis is also one of the best things about the game in my opinion. You get to fly just about every fighter bomber each side has to offer. As you engage into a space battle you can either go up against a capital ship or dogfight with other fighters, or you can even board a capital ship to try and take it out by sabotage.
You still have most if not all the original places (planets) to do battle and they have added a couple of others not found on the original such as the interior of the Death Star, which if you haven't seen the interior where the Death Star's laser is fired from, you will now.
I don't want to ramble on about what all this game has to offer, but if you really liked the first you will very much enjoy this one as well. If you haven't played either I would suggest getting this one right from the get go. Hours of fun, you know the story, great original soundtrack music, oh yeah......
YOU GET TO PLAY AS A JEDI for good, or the Dark side with jedi powers to assist.

A high action, exciting game that takes you through all of the Star Wars battles. The use of Jedi's and other heroes makes this game even more challenging. A definite recommendation to all Star Wars Fans!

This game is a pretty big improvement on the first. If you haven't bought either, buy the second one for these reasons.
1. It's 4 players. The first one was only 2 which was odd for xbox games.
2. You can play as a jedi, and there are many of them too.
3. They have space battles!
4. HUGE replay value and the campaign was much better than the first.
5. And lastly, Xbox Live and Galactic Conquest are great.
Any fan of either Star Wars or shooters will like this game and must buy it.

I like my son playiing Star Wars for X-Box. It isn't the blood and violence that so many "games!", are. Star Wars is always about the good guys and the bad guys and getting through a maze with no bad language or blood. The action with a light saber or Star Wars gun is very difference than the violence of "guns".
We played it at an arcade and we were happy to find it on E-Bay.
I recommend it and that price was great. The T rating for Teen is correct.

what i liked about this purchase was the conveince and the price of the video game. i will continue shopping with half price.com for this reason.

An excellent star wars first person shooter. Great all around.
Faster gameplay and a Hi-Def Xbox 360 version would be a welcome upgrade to this title.

I like the "Instant Action" option in the main menu. The action is pretty fast paced and follows the Star Wars storyline closely. The graphics and sounds are great. I have two boys so the multiplayer option is a lot of fun.
I bought this one because I had enjoyed the same game on my PSP so much. I also wanted to experience it on a bigger screen.

This one is a great game. It's one that you can put in, sit back, and relax and shoot some hundreds of rebels. The space fighting is a little monotonous and lame. I love playing as Anakin Skywalker!

alot like the first one only with more maps, space battles and you can play leaders(often jedis), no huge battles like the first one is the only bad part, only 20 people per side at any given moment in the battles

I bought a used Xbox game. Came in great condition. What I really liked is the outer case was in great shape and directions were like new too. No scratches or defects. It works great and has already been played for many hours. The only thing I disliked was waiting for it to arrive in the mail.

Pros
+ You can play as heroes now. That means I get to be Darth Maul!!!
+ Lots of vehicles.
+ Space battles!!!

Cons
- Almost too much chaos & bots do a lot of the work.
- No real sense of playing people online because there are so many bots.
- Can't choose your hero.
- Vehicles don't control as well as the 'Rogue Squadron' series.

Comments
Graphics are great and battles feel huge. You only seem to be a tiny part of the machine until you get into a hero's shoes. Then you are unstoppable, almost. Fun to play with a friend as well online or off.

Verdict
Must have for Star Wars fans. Must play for anyone who liked the first. This one is much better.

Battlefront II was a very looked forward to game. For those that are Star Wars fans it seemed like a very good sequel to Battlefront (atleast to me).Yet the sad truth was it has very serious inconsistonsies in gameplay. I have compiled a small list. Though I do find many thing unattractive in this game it still is very good.
-You can't go prone. This is pretty ridiculas. It realy insults war games like Battlefront. I would have to say that is one thing I can't deal with.
-Tiny maps. The "battlefronts" in Battlefront II are TINY. I don't think that tiny battlefields are very fun. I prefer giant battles. (such as Geonosis front the 1st Battlefront)
-No Heroes in Space. This would have been a very nice detail added. I would like to fight in a huge spacebattle cruisin' in the Millionium Falcon. Though it isn't a must have aspect it would have been a cool thing.
-Various innacuracies with weapons/vehicles. This annoys me. Although to common people wouldn't notice these the innacuracies are very large. (all those that no zilch of star wars will find this confusing)The clonetroopers on Geonosis have armor by rank yet that poses the problem of too many lt's or sg's. The lasers on some weapons are off by a lot... The V-wing is supposed to be a Fighter like the Arc-170 is portrayed as in Battlefront II and the Arc-170 is supposed to be a Bomber. The frigates are to weak. The capital ships are invincible. And finaly the weapon equipment of some troops are wrong.
-The things that were cool in Battlefront I that are removed. The things like Spacecraft in land battles, going prone, calling down orbital bombings, and the huge amounts of awsome maps were fun to do but removed.
-And nemurous other things.

The good things in Battlefront II however are numerous also. The award system enables players to get an edge on competetion. Space battles are heated and fun. Heroes such as Obi-Wan and Darth Vader are quite cool to play. The features on Mustafar are quite cool. Fighting on exotic planets like Felucia adds challenge. The Tattoine maps are fun and Jabba's Palace owns. The graphics and interacticity are very cool. Theres a large number of things to do in the Galactic Conquest mode.

And so in conclusion if you realy want Battlefront II get it for PC becouse people will fix it with Modifacations and Tweaks to the game. This game had great potential but it might wind up as another Lucasarts failure.

I would reccomend Star wars:Empire At War and its expansion if you like Star Wars war games. Also the Mod Ultimate Empire At War is a good addon to Star Wars: Empire At War. The link is WWW.ULTIMATE-EAW.COM however it may be down if your reading this in October.

Makes me feel like I'm in the movies. You can drive all sorts of vehicles, not to mention the ability to make a new spawn point in the enemy spaceships. Huge assortment of weapons and characters to choose from.

Fun game, good effects except when you run through the walls everything else was good. I am a big Star Wars fan and it looked like a good, fun game and it was.
