Looking for a high speed, action packed, intense, yet funny movie for an evening of viewing? Gone is Sixty Seconds is the movie to rent!
Big name stars pulled this "sit on the edge of your seat" movie to life! Here's a few of who you will see in this film:
*NICHOLAS CAGE is Randall "Memphis" Raines is a retired car thief who gave up the car stealing racket to live a quiet peaceful life.
*GIOVANNI RIBISI is Randall s younger brother Kip Raines who for the last six years has become an expert car thief, just like his brother except he enjoys the thrill too much!
*CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON is the main "Bad Guy" (Raymond Calitri) - Buyer for high end stolen cars and supplies them to South America. He is the one who orders Kip's death warrant and issues the ultimatum to Memphis.
*ANGELINA JOLIE* plays Sara Sway Wayland and she was Memphis's girl and felt abandoned by Memphis's retirement and started a career as a bartender/auto mechanic.
*DELROY LINDO is Detective Roland Castleback who has been waiting for six years to finally catch Memphis who left him in the dust high and dry several years before.
*ROBERT DUVALL is Otto Halliwell who was part of Memphis's original group of car thieves. He's since retired and runs a car restoration shop.
*WILL PATTON* is Atley Jackson, an active car thief who was a long time friend of Memphis, and currently works with Kip in the car theft racket.
*SCOTT CAAN is Tumbler who is part of the new crew of technologically advanced youngsters.
Here's how the movie unfolds:
Kip Raines steals a car from an automobile show room and drives it right thru the front window. Kip's adrenaline rush causes him to want to race another car, which brings attention by the authorities, and the car heist ring's hideout is discovered. Detective Castleback is the man on the scene and they catch no-one, but find a few clues. Castleback knows there are professional at work there, and decides to impound three of the Mercedes stolen to figure out how it's being done.
Meanwhile, Kip's error has cost his Buyer's dignity to deliver a harsh blow, and someone has to pay! Atley decides to find Kip s older brother Randall and tell him his brother has gotten into trouble which will give Kip a death sentence. Kip hand-cuffed to a steering wheel inside of a car that is to be crushed when Memphis arrives. In order to save his brother's life, Memphis agrees to steal 50 cars less than four days to fill the order Kip has failed to do.
Memphis is forced to recruit retired members of his old heisting ring. Kip gathers his young friends from the botched heist ring, and the two groups bond together to fill the order with less than 72 hours to go. Details are worked out, plans are navigated, and the day of reckoning is decided. Little do the unsuspecting thieves know that Detective Castleback have been working on the case as well and has tipped off of what is going down. The race to fill the order without getting caught is on.
This film breathes life into the script with great acting, some unpredictable scenes, and the meeting of old school minds and new car stealing techniques colliding together to give you more depth of character, and a few great laughs!
Throw in a dog who eats keys to three of the cars that have to be stolen, some laxatives, and an ongoing confrontation with another group of car thieves who feel they should have been given the car theft order instead of Kip's gang. Mix with the Police hot on the trail, and you have a few flies in the ointment that will make this gigantic heist a lot harder than expected.
Excellent screen play, excellent casting, and absolutely amazing stunts is what makes this film one to rent, own, and watch again!
