This is very good basic cell phone and the price was right, I replaced a Sony Ericson camara phone with this phone and prefer this over the Sony even though it doesn't have the camara feature, it is basically the same size as the Sony but the keypad is much larger making it easier to use plus the Sony reception was 50/50 most of the time and this phone has been 100% so far, I would reccomend this phone to anybody looking for a cheap basic cell phone.
This fone is perfect for my needs at this time. Works fine and easy to use. The battery holds it charge for a long time and few dropped calls. I am very satisfied.
Bought it for parts xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I bought two Nokia 6010 phones because my wife and daughter both had wireless plans that used the old analog technology that will soon be phased out by our wireless provider. Also since we owned our phones our wireless provider simply installed new SIM cards and we did not have to sign a one or two year contract. We like the phones because they did not have a lot of frills and features that we did not want,it is small but easy to dial and use,has good sound quality and battery life, and almost never drops a call. If you do not just "have to have" a flip phone with a bunch of extra features and frills but simply want to make and receive calls or send text messages, you should be well pleased with the Nokia 6010.
We needed three Nokia 6010 and as they were considered obsolete we found what we needed on ebay. They arrived in good condition and all that the seller advised was true. We've used Nokia for years. Thanks ebay.
Cingular told me that they were going to change to GSM in my area soon so I wanted to be prepared. I wanted a simple good quality basic phone and did not like the ones they offered. The Nokia seemed to fit my needs. The ad said that it had a speakerphone which I would have preferred. It does not but it works great. I love it. This discontinued phone has good volume and is easy to use.
I needed a phone for the truck drivers of my company and they had used these phones before and were familiar with how they worked so I bought them on ebay and they have worked great so far.
I've owned 2 of these phones. That first one dropped once on solid ground and split in two. I couldn't attach it together again so had to use duct tape to hold it together. The screen was completely blank but at least I could still make calls. It got to be pretty embarassing to be seen with the phone so I happened to stumble across the same type of phone but as a pre pay service on sale at Office Max for $19.99.I thought I could probably use my sim card from my contract service ,if not I could use it for parts. Hey , what do you know - my sim card worked in a pre pay phone. Like this I can just get cheap pre pay phones when I need a replacement.
Well back to the phone. The positive I would give is that you don't have to flip the phone open when taking a call and it seems to have alot of features for a piece of junk. If I had to, I would never buy the phone again.
bought the Nokia 6010 a few months ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive phone. The NewPhone's size is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 4 hours. My only complaint is that the menu system on the phone makes you click four times before you can find someone in the address book, set an alarm, or perform a additional functions. Other phones I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Overall, I'd recommend the phone if you're on a budget.
My co-worker/friend had one of these phones, a Nokia 6010. He dropped it in the toilet. He used a hair dryer on it to get it going again. Worked great. His dog tried to eat it. It still worked great. Later the dog ate it up into little pieces. It didn't work anymore. I never had a cell phone in my life. Didn't really want one. My daughter talked me into geting one. We went to Cingular and we got 2 Nokia 6010's for free with a 2 year contract. We use our phones alot. They work great. My wife wanted a cell. So I purchased one on Ebay for $35(shipping included) for a Valentines Day gift. Took it to Cingular and had it added to our family plan at a nominal set-up charge and about $15 a month for the third line. 12 month contract. We love these phones. They are almost indestructible, no nonsense easy use. No flips to break. No cameras. Large easy to read display. Large seeable buttons, especially if you are like me and remember Laugh In. If you want a combination MP3, Camera, TV,dog washer, toothbrush cell phone, well this one is definitely not for you! If you want an easy to use, well built unit that can take a WHOLE lot of punishment (that is up to an extent) for a very low initial investment, buy one of these. I know if mine was lost, broke or ate by a dinosaur I would definitely buy another one if I can find one. Unfortunately, Nokia doesn't make 6010's any more. At least that is what the guys at Cingular told me. If it is true it's Nokia's loss.
The reason that I bought this product was for my boyfriends little brother. He likes the phone and it seems to work just fine. I would do business again on ebay because I recieved the product not damaged or lost.
The phone is compatable with my present Cingular service. It is used but in excellent condition. I was looking for a spare back-up phone. I use my cellular phone for business so it is important that I don't have down time. This phone is perfect for an emergency.
I like the phone because its a no frills,no nonsense workhorse.i just had a hands free cradle put in my truck for this type of phone at considerable expence, when the 6010 i had got damaged.
just a simple phone. just the way i want. seller delivered 3 days after paying. Durable phone for heavy use. Auto key lock after 30 seconds is an excellent feature.
I bought this phone to replace my son's phone. He liked the Nokia 6010 and wanted to keep the same style of phone. Unfortunately, Cingular no longer carries this phone, so I had to go to e-bay to find it.
Service was through Cingular. Paid too much for this phone (retail). Technology is not up there with the times and has generic icons, music. Antenna is terrible (I compared it with a different brand at the same location). Buttons are hard to push. Would be better if they made a "cover" so you don't accidentaly dial someone while its in your pocket. They made a lock, but who wants to do that everytime?

Battery life has thus far been impressive, but use has been light, too.
PROS:
+ Impressive collection of ringtones + Well-built + Works as a phone + Won't give you bird flu + Impressive earpiece clarity, not to be confused with quality of reception
NOT PROS:
- Screen a bit dim - 2.5mm jack uses 3-band headset
I love it because it works and allows me to communicate with others. I dislike it when someone can't dial a number and they end up dialing my phone. I bought it because I needed a phone, it was cheap, and I could afford it.
I bought this phone to replace an identical phone that was misplaced. It is extremely easy to use, even for a first time Nokia user. It's a basic phone- no crazy accessories- but it's reliable and very durable. It also has a better signal than many other phones we've had.
The phone is lock with personal code which I could not use the phone unless the seller send the personal code to me before I can use this phone. I whoud kindly ask the seller to send me the personal code that he use to lock the phone before I can use it but now am not using the phone I just set it down. The last time I wrote the seller but no reply.
This is a terriffic idea for those with no warranty, or out of warranty phones. When it dies look on EBAY!!!! Avoid the corporate hose job, no exorbitantly overpriced phones, no renewal of contract. Just get on EBAY, grab a phone, switch out the SIM cards, and.......BAM!!!! you're back in communication!!!!
I imagine this applies to any other contracted electronic device, and if you can find "IT" you'll find "IT" on EBAY!!!
Nokia makes a one piece phone with no moving parts, bells, or whistles.Simpler IS better. Phone holds its charge for days, finds a signal almost immediately. If you need a phone to make calls this is one you can depend on. For all that other stuff buy an Ipod
