Directors commentary holds keys to "The Story" and the "Origin of the Legend"
MY First wonder, what will we see, King Arthur as #1a Missionary or #2- Mercenary?= a1.2
Arthur shares his nobility with unique constituencies in compassion to the proletariat; seemingly a special person on a mission from Rome.
I found that Arthur's troubles maybe complex but he makes his decisions as we ride along. He worships alone yet if we want we can follow, to paint a scene from my memory (maybe not from the script) where a knight follows to question both his discern and to ask why Arthur always has to go pray or something, instead of directly discussing things with him, or with any of the other Russian knights.
I think ths Arthurs best line is to the peasants and their guards as Arthur steps up his commanding pace finds orders contradicting his leadership, he tells to all "Understand this!; You were free from the day you were born".
Now The details of this film with a little more for your synopsis need I will add ; first though the details of the DVD: King Arthur The Director's Cut
DVD : 141 Minutes
The Roundtable Discussion 15 min. gathers together seven of the principle filmmakers: screenwriter David Franzoni, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Antoine Fuqua, and cast members Keira Knightley, Ioan Gruffudd, Clive Owen, Hugh Dancy.
"Blood on the Land: The Making of a King" (17:05)
Also there are two endings!
[1st NOTE TO THE MERIT OF THE VIEWER'S ]
The constituent by ingredient is the legend, then with the facts added to levin this story into life.
So can we simply abandon the legend?
No!So there are going to be conflicts.
Remember this for the entertainment value!
Was it intuition or acting in the days of silent film?
I think if we have a Real True King Arthur here, and even if we have the best acting performances here, we must also rely on more.
A little dry or testy for a full length film?
Do I have some psycobiographical unfamiliarity with U.K. films?
I don't know!
Is it over dramatic?
No!
[Subtle Synopsis]
From The Introduction we are informed,"There is a legend that the spirit of a fallen knight will return to a horse in a time of battle; And a knight knows that the horse will protect him""(they are trained well), and this horse will know well the call of the battle. You will see this if you pay close attention near the end.
All the Kings Men will ride together again.
The plot detail built around the rescue mission.
and I will add that the Saxons are invading as Arthur's return is to be in Rome.
In Arthur's final battle he has joined forces with his former resisting force, a "Woad" band who some sources say as another name for "Picts"; to battle the immediate common enemy.
My (Self Help Table)
Since we do have do deal with a manufactured element to the true information of myth and of legend, the following quote I've found to be good medicine~!~
A note of an auther Joseph Campbell's, "The real King Arthur might have been but the heroic mythical journey of the literary Arthur still has great relevance today".
Campbell's contributions to the study of both myth and the legend of King Arthur hold a direct part of influence to bringing these characters into life.
1 Truth; Campbell says "The literary Arthurs have great relevance to today's truths."This is just one Arthur, and a movie about his life in one small episode.
Grasping "Truth or Legend" out of.., A STORY, thats the real truth!

Story line was difficult to follow. Characters were difficulty to tell apart. A bad cross between a version of Robin Hood and Braveheart. Would not recommend and will sell it or give it away.

The story is very different, with the same characters, but not predictable like previous versions. I really enjoyed where they took us in this journey of Arthur. The actors were wonderful! His knights are each wonderful character studies in themselves... and Gwenivere's introduction was very unpredicable. Don't expect much the same from the previous films made - this was a refreshing new tale - a very believable story for that time period. Must see!

by: drdevience -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Ray Winstone, atmosphere

Cons:
Clive Owen

After seeing many previews and various clips on talk shows I have to tell you that it was with trepidation that I set out to see King Arthur today. By reading this review you may be lead to the conclusion that my fears were founded. You would be wrong. Yes, I am indeed about to pick this movie apart... but we will be ending with 4 stars nonetheless. I am female, that's all the excuse you need. I am not suppose to make sense. heh. Ok, firstly, this is not the fairy tale you are used to at all. The legend of King Arthur is hard to pin down to an exact beginning, but it was around long before...

King Arthur - Keira Knightly Shows Some Skin

Pros:
Cast. Interesting spin on the legend.

Cons:
Slow in few spots. Some things not explained.

There have been many movies made over the years dealing with the legend of King Arthur and the knights of the round table. I know the basics of the legend, but not everything. I have seen some of the movies, though I don t really have a huge interest in the legend. I have seen previews for King Arthur for months and did think it looked interesting. I wasn t completly sure that I wanted to see the movie, but I had the chance to see it so I went. When the movie began, there was some brief information about the legend of King Arthur. It also said that some new archaeological evidence had been...

King Arthur - A Very Different Take on the Camelot Legend
Review created: 06/22/05
by: AliventiAsylum-- a member of Epinions and Advisor in Movies

Pros:
brutal but well-done battle scenes, story, acting

Cons:
long, sometimes hard to follow

I love Ioan Gruffudd. When I saw a trailer for Fantastic Four recently, I was disappointed to hear him talk without that wonderful Welsh accent I so grew to adore in his performances in the Horatio Hornblower series of tele-films. However, that was remedied by renting the film King Arthur. While most people know the legend of King Arthur and Camelot, it is just that - a legend. What the truth is and where it begins and ends in regard to that legend are widely debatable. David Franzoni penned the script for this film, based on the story of a man named Arturius who led an army in Britain during.

King Arthur -- Jerry Bruckheimer blows up the Knights of the Roundtable
Review created: 05/12/05
by: three_ster-- a member of Epinions and Top Reviewer in Movies

Pros:
Keira Knightley and Clive Owen, originality of this version of the story, action

Cons:
none really

The story of King Arthur and his brave knights of the roundtable, has been done over and over in any fashion imaginable. This latest version was touted as the true story (according to recent archeological finds they claim) that you haven't heard yet. Taking place somewhere around the years 500 to 600 A.D., it depicts the Roman Empire as having spread to the far reaches of the globe. The movie comes in near the fall of the Empire, and coincides with the battles taking place within Britain. Instead of telling a mystical story about knights and their King that overlooks the land, Director...
