Double Live - Brooks, Garth (Cassette 1998)

If you are a Garth Brooks fan and have never had the opportunity to see him in concert or if you have and just want to relive the experience (to an extent) then this is the CD for you!

Double Live is a 2CD set (hence the double ) with a total of 26 songs not bad at all especially since it is sold at most stores for the same price as a regular CD. There are several versions that are sold (different cover art, etc ), but the music is all the same. It contains all his greatest songs plus some relatively new songs It s Your Song, Tearin it Up (And Burnin it Down), and Wild as the Wind.

Also found in this set is Friends in Low Places and Thunder Rolls with their extra verses that can only be heard in concert. That alone was reason enough for me to get this; you can t imagine the crowd s response when he begins to sing them. Wild as the Wind is performed as a duet with Trisha Yearwood, Brooks long-time touring partner. Steve Wariner also makes a special appearance with Longneck Bottle which he helped to write.

This CD set really gives the listener the feel of how Garth s audience reacts to him and his music. In so many songs you can hear the audience singing along, and in some cases, Brooks will stop singing and they will continue. I was lucky enough to see him in concert a few years back, and this really brought back some wonderful memories.

So just turn down the lights, turn up the music, maybe have a lighter handy, and be ready to sing...you ve now got your front row seat to Garth.
