Excellent album
Cons:
They dont sing nomore
Ok , so I will admit it, when I first heard this album, I was only 5, and I knew nothing about rock music, so I thought The Beatles were the latest....and this was like in 1977, 7 years after they had retired.
But, the thing about The Beatles, is that , once you hear them, their music stays in your heart forever. I mean, ok, I went thru the times where Duran Duran, Boy George and Madonna had the coolest music out there, and I still listened to The Beatles all the time.Nowadays, the same phenomenom is repeating itself, as my 16 year old sister listens to The Backstreet Boys and NSYNC, and she still loves to listen to the Red Album. And when John was shot in 1980, I was probably the saddest 8 year old little boy in the world. I felt, as I am sure many others did, that a good friend had left us.
And, that first time, when my dad asked me which one in the album I "was", I pointed at Paul, therefore starting years of fantasy where I thought I was one of them.
The Beatles marked a part of our story in the 20th century, because they were an essential part of the 60's movement. And they created a whole array of inspiration in the music world, inspiring such cult idol groups as ABBA, The Bee Gees, Menudo, Culture Club, Duran Duran and the heavy metal groups of the 80's with their songs. Nowadays , you still see the effect The Beatles music caused when you listen to groups like NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys....
And to think it all started with the Red Album....
Redivinous!!!
