Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003, DVD)

I just got this movie because I had the second and third pirates of caribbean. I really love this movie because Johnny Depp is in it. I like how he makes movies. You have to get this movie. You would really enjoy it.

I saw this in the theatre and it's a very good movie. not as good as the first two and a bit odd, but i love it nevertheless.

The first installment of Disney's Pirate trilogy is a feast for young and old a like. This film contains enough pratfall comedy and action to keep all family members amused. The films performances and special effects are excellent and certainly warranted the two sequels which followed.

Wonderful action packed movie. One that is great for the imagination and humorous. The characters in this movie were well chosen. Storyline was very detailed. Each actor/actress brought a uniqueness to the stage and it is one of my son's favorite movies.

Saw it when it came to the theaters. Great movie. Enjoyed it so much that I now own all three movies. Great price on Ebay. Family enjoys all three movies in this triolgy.

Who doesn't love Johnny Depp as the perma-drunk captain in this disney flick? The start of something aboslutely great, this is a movie you can sit and watch with family, and not feel like you've just sat through another hair-ripping, snore event. The story plot is capturing, and all of the characters are so well played you forget who the actor is, and get caught up in each character, even finding yourself feeling the bad guys feelings.

This is the second of a series. I loved it. I think they should make more movies like this. I am 59 years old and my wife and I find it hard to find a movie that a woman hasn't been raped or killed, or a murder and violence it it. We like clean movies that have a plot and suspense. I can't wait to see the third due out on December 4,2007

Highly enjoyable. Johnny Depp has an unlimited character stockpile in him. I watched Nightmare on Elm Street to see his first starring role and from all his other movies since. He has only grown as one of my favorite actors.
Can't wait to collect the next 2 movies in the series.
The movie was very fun to watch. It seemed liked every detail from the smallest to the biggest was made to look very authentic.
You will watch this movie over and over again.

This DVD set contains both the movie and related features and a DVD that goes into great detail about the movies' making. Excellent commentaries and scene details really bring home the realities of making a movie and reveal some very interesting facts. I really enjoy a movie that, like Pirates, has several plots going on simultaneously and successfully! The acting and special effects are superb and the surprises are many.
Since I do not have Cable TV or other channel system, I choose a few "proven" movies to own so that I can enjoy television/movie entertainment. There are so many details in this movie that, even though I've watched it numerous times, I always see or hear something new each time I view.

This movie is such a great movie. Definitely not a kiddy disney movie. The characters were amazing. "captain" Jack Sparrow has become one of my new favorite characters. I recommend this movie to everyone.

Excellent movie, Johnny Depp is fantastic as Jack Sparrow! Maybe a little to scary for a younger audience but older kids love the movie!

I DISLIKE the fact I never received the item. I DISLIKE the fact she never had the guts to answer my emails. I DISLIKE the fact I lost my money on this purchase. I DISLIKE the fact that I'm now a little weary to purchase another one. Got screwed on this deal. As a seller, it makes me sick to know there are people on eBay who are stiffing people on their purchases. It makes us honest sellers look bad! I decided to purchase it because we want the whole series on dvd.

I was on a Pirate search for all kinds of Pirate Booty for a party we are having on the 22nd. of Sept. I found several dvds of the movie and I placed bids on them and was very please with the great price's, I paid for my items that I had bid on and won. our pirate chest will be full of great Booty from Ebay. What Fun to shop and win some really great items, for our Pirate Party!!

Loosely based on the extremely popular Disneyland ride, this film did very well at the box office. The directior - Jerry Bruckheimer manages to capture several of the popular scenes from the ride and transfer them to the film, such as the town mayor being dunked into the well, the dog w keys in the cell and the ship graveyard. The characters were well portrayed in the picture with the help of Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Kiera Knightly, Geoffrey Rush and Jack Davenport. Captain Jack Sparrow,(Depp) lands at Port Royal to grab himself a ship to go after Barbossa,(Rush) however upon arrival he runs into William Turner,(Bloom) and discovers that he is the rightful heir of the pirate madallian that is currently owned by Elizabeth Swan,(Kightly). With the 'leverage', Sparrow grabs himself a crew and sets sail for the Isle of Dimquerta. The film was classified as one of the top three summer films of 2003, in which Johnny Depp stole the show and became a pirate icon. The film did well enough for two sequals to be released in 2006, (Dead Man's Chest) and 2007(At World's End). Who knows if there are more to come, but this film alone will stand the test of time right next to the ride itself.

Excellent video, brand new, never opened, included both discs. It's Johnny Depp what more is there to say! My nephew adored the extra disc with the making of the movie.

the item was shipped quickly, arrived in excellent description just as described. Even with shipping cost, it was cheaper than in the stores for a used DVD. No scratches or damages and the movie had the bonus disc. We enjoyed it tremendously!

It was entertaining for me and my husband as well as my children. It was also very humorous. I couldn't help but enjoy it and I didn't really want to watch it at first.
