A Funny Take on Movie Music

Pros:
Fun interpretations of classic movie themes...

Cons:
May get boring after the 10th listen

This CD-EP is A New Found Glory's take on several classic movie themes, including "The Goonies 'R' Good Enough" (from the 80's classic children's movie The Goonies) and the themes to Never Ending Story, Titanic, Karate Kid 2, Armaggedon, That Thing You Do, and Bryan Adam's song "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You" from Robin Hood with Kevin Costner.

Sometimes cover albums can be quite dull, especially when the cover songs are mere straight-foward copies of the original. However, since none of the themes from these movies ever resembled anything pop-punk in the first place, all of these covers are amusing to hear. Case in point: A New Found Glory makes Celine Dion's nauseating theme to Titantic rockin'. "Rockin'?" you ask. Yes, it's true. While some of these songs work better than others as poppy punk tunes (the Titantic one is actually one of my least favorites on the CD), it is overall a fun CD to listen to.

The best themes on the CD are the Goonies theme and the That Thing You Do theme, both creatively interpreted by the band and songs that can be listened to over and over again.
