Engines of Creation - Satriani, Joe (CD 2000)

This CD makes me feel like I've been electrocuted. But I mean that in a good way. Let me explain further.

Track one is called; Devil's Slide. Okay. Okay. I don't care for this track. It's too dark. It's too depressing. That is it makes me feel depressed. And it's too damn fast. I give this track an F.

The second track is called Flavor Crystal 7. Obviously it's about Satriani's experience while drinh Kool Aid Or High-C. I can visualize a surfer catching a perfect wave on a Californian beach someware. This song rocks! I give this tr4ack an A-.

The next track is titled. Borg Sex. I guess this is about what Satriani thinks that the Borg ( of Star Trek) do when they have sex. Anyway this track is also awesome. I feel galvinized when I listen to this song. I like Satriani's solo on this track. I can visualize two borgs talking to each other. The only thing lacking in this song is the crescendo. It just doesn't fit. But overall this song works for me. I give this track about an A.

Until We Say Goodbye. Is the next track. I like this song. This song depresses me but in a good way. It makes me feel mournful. I guess it's about Satriani
s loss of a loved one or when he had to say goodbye to a lover. The solo on this song is the best on the album. I rate this song about an A.

Attack is a good solid song. It's fast and I think that Satriani sampled a classic riff on this song. I like it. I can just visualize a martial art showdown in a movie or a climactic space battle to this track. I love it. I give it a B.

Next comes "Champagne?" I have no idea why this song is given this title. Do you know? Please tell me so. Anyway; this song reminds me of a cowboy and an android just chillin' out. The solo reminds me of if an android was going in for repairs. The tag on ending reminds me of the aforesaid android and cowboy just chilling around a campfire. This track is probably the best track on the album. It is very imaginitive. I give it an A+.

Clouds Race Across the sky is the next track. I can visualize the title easily. I like this song. It's mellow and quiet. It's serene/ I give this song an B.

The Power Cosmic 2000-part 1. Is an intro but what an intro. I can visualize the "power cosmic" being utilized to create the Marvel comic-book character the Silver Surfer. I like the use of the Indian riff on this track. I give this tracki and A.

The Power cosmic part 2 is about (I think) some marvel character like Galactus visiting the earth. At least that is what I visualize. I love it. I give it a B.

The next to last track is called Slow and easy. But it's too slow and easy. I don't like it. I give it an F.

The last track is called the engines of creatioin. It's my second favorite track. Maybe it's just me but I can visualize someone getting it on (Ha Ha!). I can also visualize something being created like an android or Captian America's shield. I give this song an A+
