Enrique - Iglesias, Enrique (CD 1999)

My original review was poorly written and placed under the wrong album--so I thought it deserved a more proper write up. This is one of my favorite albums. It gets me through times both good and bad. Enrique has the most wonderful voice. This album has a mix of upbeat songs mixed with ballads. This album has ten songs with three repeated in Spanish.

1. Rhythm Divine/(Paul Berry and Mark Taylor)Wonderful Latin rhythm--good to dance to. Great lyrics about losing yourself in the music and falling in love. Great start to the album.

2. Be With You (Enrique, Paul and Mark)--by far my favorite song. There is a pain in this song that comes straight from experience and the heart. Kind of a ballad about missing someone so badly that all you want in the world is to be with them (haven't we all been there?). Great for a single release.

3. I have Always Loved You (Rick Nowels, Billy Steinburg, Marie Claire)--bittersweet ballad. About loving someone, but it being the wrong time or you both being too young, and it goes wrong when it shouldn't have.

4. Sad Eyes (Bruce Springsteen)--this song is another ballad, its about seeing loneliness in someone else. And waiting to they are ready to try again. You're eyes never lie.

5. I'm Your Man (Enrique and Patrick Leonard)--Its about a man with a love so strong that he will continue to posses and know the woman no matter where she goes or what she does. It has some interesting music.

6. OYEME (Enrique, Estefano, Rick and Billy)--Sensual song in lyric and music. About giving in to desire. Great music for this one with some brass in the background.

7. Could I Have This Kiss Forever (Diane Warren)--duet with Whitney--My least favorite song. Its about wanting this moment and love to last forever.

8. You're My Number One (Enrique and Lester Mendez)-- This song is about no matter what wonderful things this man has seen or done that this woman is the most remarkable thing he has even experienced.

9. Alabao(Enrique, Chein Garcia, Rhett Lawrence)--Another Sensual song, also has great music. "Feels like I am hit my lightning every time you move"

10. Bailamos (Paul and Mark)-- Great first single. My second favorite song. Great music, great lyrics. "Let the Rhythm take you over" "Nothing is forbidden anymore." This song always makes me want to dance.

11. Ritmo Total--Rhythm Divine in Spanish.

12. Mas Es Amar--Sad Eyes

13.No Puedo Mas Sin Ti--I'm Your Man

This is a truly wonderful album especially if you are a fan of the Latin sound. He has a wonderful voice. The music and lyrics have been wonderfully crafted. This is one of my favorite albums in my vast collection.
