At the Close of a Century [Box] - Wonder, Stevie (CD 1999)

As I sat and listened to this incredible boxed set of music from the genius Stevie Wonder, I realized how much he has meant to me over the last four decades, and what an impact he had on popular music when I was a young man. During the late 60s and early 70s, he was such a groundbreaking musician and writer, and he inspired other artists by taking control of his career at an early age and becoming a pioneer of modern popular music, right up there with the Beatles. I cannot say enough good things about this man. I read the little booklet that comes with the set, and my heart was overwhelmed by admiration, love, and respect for this incredible creative soul.
In spite of all the adversity Stevie Wonder faced, his message was always positive and uplifting. He always moved forward, a blind man with a wonderful vision. This is an excellent celebration of the triumph of the creative spirit. I would not want to live in a world where this man did not exist.
