Pros:
1 good song
Cons:
13 not so good ones
Clint Black's latest CD, D'lectrified, is a far cry from the great albums he once had. I have been a Clint Black fan since his arrival in country music. This CD however is one I would not recommend. This CD contains 14 songs including remakes of "No Time To Kill" and "Burn One Down". These two songs are the low point of the album. Why remake a hit? It can't get better. It only gets worse. I must say this is the first time I've heard someone "murder" their own song.
Just as the title of the CD suggests, only acoustic instruments were used. I do admire the effort. The music sounded fine, but the vocals were not up to expectations. Clint's usual smoothness was gone. The one exceptional song on this album was "When I Said I Do" a duet with his wife Lisa Hartman-Black.
As a final thought I'd like to recommend that you buy Clint Black' Greatest Hits CD. It shows Clint's greatness. Lets hope he can once again reach that same greatness in a future album
