Analyze This (1999, DVD)

DeNiro and Crystal - should be a good gig - but felt sadly disappointed. Was slightly in that slap stick kind of humor that I do not like (ie; Airplane, Stripes, etc). I thought DeNiro's acting was very poor in this vehicle but he did kind of look like a 'Don'

The wedding scenes with their interruptions, in fact, all the times that the mafia guys showed up and pulled Crystal away were just too unbelievable to be even funny. I mean one time was bad enough but then they had to do it again, in fact you almost expected them to, otherwise why else have another wedding ceremony. The performance by Kudrow was her basic role. I keep hoping some further talent will show through for her but I think either she is type cast because of Friends or that is all she really has to offer. Too bad since I think in Friends she is pretty good but I can't say much for her other roles.

Of course the underlying reason for DeNiro's anxiety, the death of his father, was obvious from the start. Crystals' portrayal of a doctor also left a lot to be desired. Although you do have to wonder if they do have those thoughts while listening day after day to people whine on about mundane things when there is real tragedy in the world.

I supposed this was a nice break for DeNiro from his usual acting vehicles but it was a typical part for Crystal. I was disappointed in the whole movie and only finished watching it because my remote is broken.
