Pros:
great album, one of his best
Cons:
none
I was a major CCR fan in the 60's and 70's and really enjoyed their country-style rock. It was good music, it was my college years and I managed to get practically almost all their albums during those years on vinyl. Whenever I hear one of their songs on the radio, I have to crank up the volume! Great driving music.
So often when singers make a comeback years later, they've lost it!
Not this dude by one stinking iota!!! Very seldom does an album literally floor me the first time I hear it, but this is one of them! His voice is still in fine shape, he looks wonderful (can't stand to see guys older than me looking younger, and with more hair!)
Anyhow, the first cut on the album is Southern Streamline. It takes you by storm. Other songs that really got me listening and practically standing on edge were A 110 in the Shade, Bring it down to Jelly Roll, and Swamp River Days. There isn't a single song I didn't like.
Although this is a solo album, I could hear the spirit of CCR (and I say this in a positive way) in this entire album which I say as the highest compliment to this singer. He hasn't made a lot of albums over the years, but that is just as well as each one of them is an EVENT to me.
