Pros:
great music, creative lyrics, variety of styles and emotions
Cons:
???
Country music is not really "cool" where I'm from. However, spent much of my adolescence around horses, working in a stable and competing in Western horse shows, so I was exposed to a great deal of country. I used to learn the songs just from exposure without ever knowing the titles or performers, so I was shocked when I saw an advertisement for this CD and found it contained many of my favorite songs!
Clint Black has a rich, powerful voice that can sincerely communicate the emotions behind his music. He has the appropriate country "twang" and an impressive vocal range. He also blends beautifully with backup singers and other performers in duets. The music itself is creative but distinctly country, and the CD contains a great variety of tempos and styles. I appreciate the variety of music as well as the scope of emotions covered on the CD. I think there's a song for every mood. I always feel wonderful during and after listening to Clint.
Although I don't listen to country music much anymore, I still play this CD regularly. I love every single song!
Favorites:
"Good Run of Bad Luck" (from "Maverick" with Mel Gibson)
"Life Gets Away"
"Desperado"
