Pros:
Great Country Sound
Cons:
A CD that is hard to top
This is the CD which made me fall in love with Patty Loveless's old country sound. I can relate to each of these songs on this CD. I like this 4 year old CD even moreso than her more recent.
The Trouble With The Truth
Artist: Patty Loveless
Released Date: January, 1996
Produced by: Emory Gordon, Jr.
Record Label: Woodland Digital, Nashville, TN
Songs and My Comments On Each:
1) Tear-Stained Letter Get up and Boogy! This is a song about her making him cry and she don't care!
2) The Trouble With The Truth Same old same old. She keeps having the same problems over and over again. She needs to hear the truth, but she knows it is just a rehash of what she already knows.
3) I Miss Who I Was (With You) Sometimes it is best to be naive, better not to know than to know. Makes life simplier.
4) Everything's Equal In The Eyes Of Love Love is an Equal Opportunity for all...Doesn't matter who you are, Rough and Tough or Sweet and Innocent...White or Black...Love is Love! It is an emotion we all feel. Toe Tapping Tune!
5) Lonely Too Long A song about two people fulfilling each other's needs, if only for a night. It may not have been right, but it felt right at the time. My favorite on this CD.
6) You Can Feel Bad A cold hearted woman shines through in this song. He is leaving and she gets high on the thought of him feeling bad about leaving her...but she doesn't feel bad at all or does she? Is she trying to convince herself?
7) A Thousand Times A Day Love the play of words of this hit. I love the way she tries to tells us that she is NOT hurting from a love lost. Great Old Country Sound!
8) She Drew A Broken Heart Ruined Sheets makes up for the wasted lipstick in this broken hearted tale.
9) To Feel That Way At All This songs makes me cry every time I hear it. It is slow, tender song about a love from yesterday.
10) Someday I Will Lead The Parade A real tear jerking song. It is sad to think most people will only lead the parade at their own funeral. Unfortunately, as we live our lives we tend to remember the things other's do wrong, rather than what they do well. Only at one's funeral are they remembered for all the good things.
Overall Rating=Great CD! Patty Loveless at her best!
