Pros:
Yellow Ledbetter, Footsteps, Jeremy, lol
Cons:
None
Considering Pearl Jam's new cd just came out yesterday, I cannot review that yet, so instead I will review The Jeremy Single. One of the original Pearl Jam songs released in 1991, Jeremy is the 2nd single made by this legendary band after the Alive Single, and believe me the Alive Single doesn't compare to this.
What This Is
The Jeremy single was released in 1992, and as I said earlier, is the 2nd single ever released by Pearl Jam. This cd consists of three songs, all great. The first is off the album Ten the first album released by the band. The other two songs were brand new at the time, and by all means can't be beat. Well, they are very good let's just leave it at that.
The Songs
The names of the three songs are as follows:
1. Jeremy
2. Footsteps
3. Yellow Ledbetter
Yellow Ledbetter is in italics because it is one of the best Pearl Jam songs of all time.
Jeremy
This is a song many of you have probably heard of, it is on the radio a lot, even today, and is one of the greatest songs, and videos of all time. This song talks about a young boy, who got picked on a lot in school, and his parents were 'druggies,' and paid no attention to the boy. If you listen to this song actually listen to the words, some of my friends (That are women), have actually burst into tears. This song really gets to you, in more than one way.
Footsteps
Ever heard of the band Temple of The Dog? Well, if you have then when you hear this song you will know that the guitars are the same. Why? Members of the band Pearl Jam for example: Stone Gossard, Eddie Vedder, Jeff Ament, and Mike Mccready, were all members of that band, along with a few people from Soundgarden such as Chris Cornell. Anyway this song really has a great beat to it, and any true Pearl Jam fan cannot miss a song like this.
Yellow Ledbetter
Although you cannot really understand what Eddie Vedder is saying, this is still one of the best Pearl Jam songs of all time. The guitar riffs on this song are like no other. Also I recommend looking at a lyrics page, and figuring out what Vedder is saying it makes, this song sound better. But all in all, this song is my favorite Pearl Jam song Ever.
Band Members from this album
Vocals, Guitar: Eddie Vedder
Guitars, Vocals: Stone Gossard
Lead Guitar: Mike McCready
Bass, Vocals: Jeff Ament
Drums: Dave Kruson
Conclusions
In Conclusion, for Pearl Jam fans, this is a must have Single. If you have not heard of it before I highly recommend you checking it out.
Now days this cd is pretty hard to find, but I managed to find a copy at Spec's music. If you can't find it in the store, you can ask the sales clerk if you can order it, if you can they'll get it, if you can't they usually will give you some website where you can find it for 3 or 4 bucks.
Great Cd
