Pros:
Great Album
Cons:
Some tracks are questionable as to "hit" status
The third installment in Bob Dylan's greatest hits collection is just
as memorable as it's predecessors. It contains Dylan's classics
from the middle of Dylan's career.
Beginning with the always memorable "Tangled up in Blue,"
"Greatest Hits Volume Three" gets off to a heart pounding ride of
intricate lyricism harmonizing with brilliant musicianship, until the
final notes of the album's last track, "Knockin' of Heaven's Door."
For die-hard Dylan fans who already own all of Dylan's official
releases Volume Three offers new incentive through the prophetic
"Dignity." The previously unreleased Dylan tune is one of his
most poetic and though provoking pieces yet. It describes Bob's relentless attempts at identifying dignity, through questioning idols, and self examination. It is classic Dylan that is essential to fans and casual listeners alike.
