Pros:
best of Aerosmith

Cons:
None

I was raised on Aerosmith and Ozzy Osborne, so when I saw a new Aerosmith CD Big Ones come out I knew I had to have it. I cut my teeth on Toys in the Attic (I had it on eight track) LOL, so I knew this one would be fabulous as well. Wow if you don't know what an eight track player is ask someone older. ;O)

Steven Tyler is the best vocalist I have ever listened to he has so many different sounds and ranges depending on the song he is singing. The entire band is "Amazing" in my book. I think everyone can find something to like about this CD. They go all the way from ronchy to romantic.

I have to admit that I hadn't hadn't ever heard the first song on the CD: Walk on Water, It follows in the Aerosmith tradition of sexual enuindo and nastiness that is a trade mark for them.
"Hey little darlin'
Your love is legendery
Love's for letters
Ain't in my dictionary
'Scus my postition
but it ain't missionary"

Love in an Elevator is a classic that I adore. This one is about working blues. He gets in the elevator with Jacki (from lingerie second floor) He's hoping the elevator will get stuck.
"Love in an elevator
Lovin' it up when I'm goin' down
Love in an elevator
Livin' it up when I hit the ground"

Rag Doll is another classic that gets me going. This one is done in the traditional intense drum rythum that I like so much.
"Rag doll, livin' in a movie
Hot tramp, daddy's little cutiie
So fine, they'll never see ya'
Leaven by the back door, man"

The next song on this CD is:
What it Takes- this one of my very favorites of all time. anyone who has loved and lost can relate to this one. The song is his old girlfriend and how she messed him up by loving and leaving him, it's about love gone bad, and how to get over that special one,
"Tell me what it takes to let you go
Tell me how the pain's supposed to go
Tell me how it is that you can sleep in the night
Without thinking you lost everything that was good in your life to the toss of the coin..........Tell me that your happy that you're on your own
Tell me that your body doesn't miss my touch
Tell me that my lovin' didn't mean that much
Tel me you ain't dyin'when you're cryin' for me........(intensity increases here) that guiter's whine runs through me like fire. "Tell how's to blame for whern you cry..............(chanting starts)let it go, let it go, let it go (I get cold chills at that part). You have to hear this one to appricate.

Dude Looks like a Lady
This one is fun, not one of my favorites but good anyway. It's about obviously a dude who looks like a lady and comes on to the singer,
"Baby let me follow you down
Let me take a peek dear (LOL) ...............What a funky lady
She like it like it like it like that
He was a lady"

Janie's Got a Gun
The music on this one is fantastic, one of my favorites. This a unique sound that Aerosmith has perfected. Janie was jacked when she was a baby and years later when she finds out she kills the man who did it that posed as her daddy for all of those years.
"honey what have you done
it's the sound of my gun...................
They said when Janie was arrested they found him underneath the train
But man he had it comin'..................
Now nobody has to run
Tell me now it's untrue
What did her daddy do
He jacked a little bitty baby
The man has got to be insane.......................
What did her daddy's do
This is Janie's last I.O.U.
She had to take him down easy and put a bullet in his brain
She said 'cause nobody believes me
The man is such a sleaze....................
Run away, run away from the pain"
Waining this is a very intense song about abuse and wrongs that drove a girl to kill her father.

Cryin' is the number 7. This is a brokenhearted song too. The anguish in this song is very evident.
"I was cryin' when I met you
Now I tryin' to forget you
Love is sweet misery.....................
What you give to me
Takes my breath away
Now the word is on the street
Is the devil in your kiss..........." This is misery at it's best.

Amazing is amazing. I can't image anyone not liking this song. This one is about salvation after falling to the bottom. I think it could be about a battle about getting off drugs.
"There were times in my life
When I was going insane
Tryin' to walk through
The pain
When I lost my grip
And I hit the floor.......................
It's amazing
When the moment arrives when the moment arrives that you know you'll be alright
It's Amazing
And I'm saying a prayer for the desperate heart tonight................"

Blind man is not one of favorites
" I met a blind man
Who taught me how to see
Blind man
Who could change the night to day"

Deuces are Wild
" I love to look into your big brown eyes
They talk to me and seem to hypnotize
They say the things nobody dares to say
And I'm not about to let you fly away...............
I love you 'cause your decues are wild girl
Like a doulbe shot of love is so fine
I've been loving you was a child girl
'Cause you and me are two of a kind"

The Other Side
Mm mm, mm mm mm
This is one of my ver very favorite songs from Aerosmith.
"My mama told me there would be days like this
And man she wasn't foolin'...........
Lovin' you has got to be
Like the devil and the deep blue sea
(take me to the other side)

Crazy
This song is a good one too, although it's not my favorite.
The chorus is my favorite part of the song. This is a song about breaking up or loving someone more that they love you.
"I go crazy, crazy, baby, I go crazy
you turn it on
Then you're gone....................
I'm losin' my mind, girl
That kinda' lovin' turns a man into a slave
That kinda' lovein'
sends a man right to his grave"

Eat the Rich
Wild song with a wild sound.
"Eat the rich
take one bite now- come back for more...........
So I called up may head shrinker
And I told him what I had done
He said you'd better go on a diet.............
i believe in all the good things
That money just can't buy"

Angel
This one is my very favorite song on the CD.
"I'm in tears
and the cryin' that I do is for you
I want your love lets break the wall
between us..................
You're my angel
come and save me tonight
You're my angel
come and make it alright
Don't know what I'm gonna' do about this feeling inside......
Without you're love I'm nothing but a begger.......
You're the reason I live
You're the reason I die
You're the reason I give when I brake down and cry"

Living on the Edge is the last song on the Big Ones Cd, but certainly not the least.
"There's something wrong with world today
The light bulb is getting Dim
There's meltdown in the sky
If you can judge a man
by the color of his skin
Then mister you are a better man than I"
